Earlier in the show popular ex-Victorian and now Queenslander, Becky Jenkins nee Allen rode her Show Hunter in the show events with success. Today Becky rode RSB Jacana, that is returning to the Grand Prix ranks after a long injury break which included producing a foal. Becky and Jacana jumped well for a double clear round in the Group A class for second place and narrowly missed taking out the Champion Group A horse.
As always international course builder David Sheppard is doing a really good job just getting the right number of horses through to the jump offs.
Billy Raymont rode his well performed Stardom to take out the Group A event with two good clear rounds. Billy also was awarded the $300 Racing Victoria Off The Track bonus, as Stardom many years ago also raced.
Brook Dobbin rode Angela and Marcus Cooney's beautiful and imported Silvo to jump a good clear first round and then jump the quickest round in the jump off but had the last down to take third place in the Group A class.
Melbourne Royal is celebrating the 100th judging of the Clydesdale breed and for the first time the classes were judged inside the massive cattle pavilion, which proved popular with the spectators and many of the competitors.
The Cox Family had a good day with their homebred exhibits, taking out the Champion Two year old colt with Valmont Cambridge and Reserve Champion Mare, Valmont Boutique and Reserve Champion Filly, Valmont Crown Jewel. Colin Cox is seen here with Valmont La Bella that was placed third in the strong class for Dry Mares over 4 years.
Clydesdale judge, Mr Peter Tennant from Scotland was very impressed with the exhibits he saw today and thought Australia has done a good job in maintaining the breed standard.

Jessica Tripp from NSW riding Flowervale Diamond was the only rider to jump three clear jumping rounds in the Junior Grand Prix. However, Jessica was last to go in the jump off and knew she had to jump clear but 6 time faults put her in second place.
