The brilliant 'Valegro' looks like a little cob until Charlotte picks up the reins. And he is brilliant at the lap of honour. The sensational Negro gelding won the Grand Prix Special with 86.120%. His record is over 88%.

With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan, this looks like "Three Little Maids From School". The youthful face of international Dressage. L-R Silver, Helen Langehanenberg, Gold, Charlotte Dujardin and Bronze, Kristina Sprehe. And doesn't Charlotte look happy?

Popular Dutch rider, Adelinde Cornelissen just missed out on a medal with her very well preformed 17 year old, 'Jerich Parzival N.O.P' to take fourth place in the Grand Prix Special with 79.328%.

Austria's Victoria Max-Theurer rode her August Der Starke stallion, 'Augustin OLD' to sixth place in the Grand Prix Special with 77.857%

In this picture Helen Langehanenberg has such a lovely , soft contact with Dam Hill's mouth. The guest at DWTS earlier in the year was a pleasure to watch.

Helen Langhanenberg and the super Donnerhall stallion, 'Damon Hill NRW' are a popular combination. A beautiful rider and a beautiful horse. They took the Grand Prix Special Silver Medal with 84.468%

Laura Graves of the USA is one of the finds of the competition. She rode her Florett As gelding, 'Verdades' beautifully to take eighth place in the Grand Prix Special.

Still in her 20's young German rider, Kristina Sprehe is one of a quartet of young girls at the forefront of international dressage. She is pictured aboard her De Niro stallion, 'Desperados FHR' that took the bronze medal in the Grand prix Special with 79.762%.

Hans Peter Minderhoud rode the stallion 'Glock's Johnson TN' by Jazz to 11th place in the Grand Prix Special with 75.630%.

Carl Hester sporting his rather racy GB helmet rode a beautiful test aboard his ten year old , 'Nip Tuck' by Don Ruto to take 12th place in the Grand Prix Special with 75.532%.

The Spanish Team looks very smart in their grey tail coats. Jose Daniel Martin Dockx is pictured aboard the always impressive Andalusian stallion, 'Grandioso' by Adelante that earned 74.090% and 18th place in the Grand prix Special.

We are not so sure about the orange tie, but young Dutch Team member, Diederik van Silfhout created an impression at his first Championships by taking ninth place in the Grand Prix Special riding his lovely, 'Arlando NH N.O.P' for a score of 75.924%.

The sad news today was that Isabell Werth's , 'Bella Rose' was withdrawn from the competition due to a foot abscess. The lovely mare is the new face of international dressage and it is a pity she will take no further part in the competition. Fabienne Lutkemeier the young German rider who opened the dressage competition on the first day is pictured aboard her De Niro gelding, 'D'Agostino' during the Grand Prix Special. They earned 74.062% for 19th place.

Regular Australian visitor, Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein rode her wonderful home bred, 'Digby' for Denmark to take 14th place in the Grand Prix Special and earn a place in the Grand Prix Freestyle on Friday. The top 15 of the Grand Prix Special go through to the Freestyle.

Spain's, Jose Antonio Garcia Mena's Andalusian stallion, 'Norte Lovera'. The Spaniards always add some fun to these events.

Australian Team Member, Mary Hanna made it through to the Grand Prix Special with her lovely Sandro Hit gelding, 'Sancette'. They produced a good test for 69.31%

Australia has the most vocal support team. There are estimated to be over 1000 Australian spectators at WEG and you can hear every one of them.

That's what you call a big pat. Elizabeth Sobecki is thrilled with her, 'Hatero De PB' after their Grade III Para Dressage Test.

Austrian Para Dressage rider, Bernd Brugger rode his , 'Denigo' by De Niro to take eleventh place in the Grade III Individual test with 66.805%.

Yonatan Dresler riding for Israel was ninth in the Grade III Individual test with 66.65% riding his 'Flylight' by Perion.
