On the strength of performances throughout the show, Jelly Bean was declared Champion Group B Horse backing up from Champion Group C Horse in 2015. For the first time in history (as far as anyone can recall) a junior rider has claimed the Rupert Metherall Memorial Trophy for Champion Jumping Rider. Eighteen year old Jess Tripp from Duffy's Forest in NSW won every Junior class on offer and also placed in Group B to claim the trophy.

Cath Metherall has been attending Melbourne Royal for 85 years and the former Garryowen winner was on hand to present the Champion Jumping Rider with the Rupert Metherall Memorial Trophy.

Dave Cameron rode , 'Conquista' and missed the Mini Prix jump off with just one rail down in the first round.
