Yesterday Troy Wilson won the class for Gentleman Rider 21-30 Years and was declared Champion Gentleman Rider. Today he rode his lovely imported mare, 'Shakira LP' by Samba Hit to make Providence Cup Top Ten.

Shelley McGuinness rode her impressive, 'Roxleigh Liberty' by Londonderry to win the class for Novice Show Hunter Over 16.2hh and make the providence Cup Top Ten.

Georgia Grenwell rode her grandfather, John De Marco's, 'JD Graduate' to make the Providence Cup Top Ten.

Kaitlin Labahn-Meyland is picture aboard her mother, Michelle Labahn's impressive Regardez Moi gelding, 'Rogue Trader R' that made Providence Cup Top Ten. Later this combination won the Childs Show Hunter over 16hh.

Rebecca Phillips rode her, Lynda Coad and Donna Llewellyn's, 'Garcia' to win the class for Novice Hack 16-15.2hh.

Always successful at Melbourne Show, Shae Hanger rode the Citius Lodge nomination, 'Harlow' to win the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh and go on to claim the Best Novice Hack award.

Rachael Addison from Lara in Victoria rode her, 'Queen of Hearts' to win the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Amy Bachmann rode her lovely going gelding by Carbine, 'Jaybee Crackerjack' to win the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Natasha Moody rode the Bilson and Cunningham nomination, 'Da Vinci Code' to take second place in the class for Child's Hack Over 16hh and from there went on to take out the Child's Hack Reserve Championship.

Hannah Bufton's, 'Towering Inferno' has carried many to victory at Melbourne Royal and today Hannah claimed the Child's Hack Championship with the Over 16hh gelding by Carbine.

Toni Guenther's, 'Ready To Rock' made Top Ten in the Providence Cup special competition for Horses Showing Show Hunter Qualities.

Rachel Wessell is pictured powering along aboard her impressive Royal Hit mare, 'Bella Rossa' that made Providence Cup Top Ten and went on to win the class for Lady's Show Hunter.

Popular competitor, Di MacDonald rode her own and Tony Bayley's well performed, 'Dunelm Icon' and only Galloway to make Top Ten, to claim the Providence Cup Runner Up Award. The Providence Cup is a special class for horses over 14hh showing Hunter qualities.

Jess Stalling was the first to workout of the Top Ten Pope Cup finalists riding her Clang gelding, 'Tattinger' and she took a hold on the prestigious trophy and no one could loosen her grip. The very successful showing and jumping professional was delighted to win, as the Melbourne Royal Pope Cup is certainly on every showing rider's wish list. The major classes today were a victory for good riding. However more was to come for Jess and Tattinger, as they went on that evening to claim the W MCL (Mac) Greaves Memorial Champion Hack award.

Heidi Pickstock has stepped aboard the great 'DP Amazing' with partner, Dale Plumb happy to organise from the sidelines. It has proved to be a successful move, as Heidi is developing a better and better partnership with the horse and today won the class for Open Hack 16-16.2hh. They went on to claim the 2016 Melbourne Royal Reserve Champion Hack award.

The day did not begin well for Laura Thomas, but things warmed up by the evening and Laura's spirits improved with a victory. She roe her 'On Fire ' to win the class for Show Hunter 15.2-16hh and went on to claim the 2016 Melbourne Royal Show Hunter Championship.

Greg Mickan rode the Romsey Park and Sheree Pengelly nomination, the well performed, 'Argyl Contender' to win the class for Open Hack 15-15.2hh.

Well known Victorian showing identity, Jacqui Librio rode her, 'Dicavalli Duchess' to win the class for Open Show Hunter 16-16.2hh.

Simon Deleeuw rode Eileen Clarke's well performed Show Hunter, 'Richies Girl' to win the class for Gentleman's Show Hunter.

Briony Randle rode her own, Warren Coyle and Howard Morris' super successful, 'Entourage' to claim the Pope Cup Runner Up award. They went on to take out the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh.

All the way from sunny Queensland, Paul Austin flew in to ride Alicia Paterson's, 'I Love Lucy' to take second place in the class for Open Show Hunter 15.2-16hh.

Sally Shaw rode Megan Clark's Rotspon gelding, 'Remi Rigoletto' to win the class for Novice Show Hunter 15-15.2hh and go on to claim the Best Novice Show Hunter award. They went on to claim the Champion Child's Show Hunter trophy and the Reserve Champion Open Show Hunter title.

Stephanie O'Connor from Seaforth in NSW rode her, 'Supreme' by Doomsday to make Top Ten in the Pope Cup. Although the Col AV Pope Cup was sponsored by the Racing Victoria Off The Track programme, the class is for horses "showing Thoroughbred qualities" and not just exclusively for Thoroughbred horses.

Katrina Kearns rode Belinda Cusworth's successful, 'Aspen Park Icon' to make Pope Cup Top Ten. Later this combination won the Hack 15.2-16hh.

Carissa McLeod's lovely nomination, 'Optimal' by Octagonal made the Pope Cup Top Ten.

Sherrie Lee is pictured aboard her successful hack, 'Tonik' that made Pope Cup Top Ten.

In a class that was notable for its good workouts, 16 year old Brynie Lee out rode the lot to produce the winning workout aboard her, 'SLM Valentino' by Waltan (imp) and claim the prestigious 2016 Providence Cup.

Successful showing professional, Greg Mickan rode Christine Frost's impressive Thoroughbred by Bianconi, 'Elmdale Park Presidential' to make the Providence Cup Top Ten. Later in the day this combination won the Show Hunter Hack over 16.2hh.

Isabella Bould has had a wonderful show and capped it off this evening by claiming the Picasso Trophy for the Most Successful Saddle Horse at the Royal Melbourne Show with Meeka Morley's consistent, 'Exotic' winner of the special class for Hack, Mare over 15hh.
