2017 Royal Melbourne Show

Elizabeth Krog had a good day with her Jive Magic mare, 'Warrawee Diamantee' that won the classes for Novice Show Hunter Over 16hh, the Open Show Hunter Over 16hh as well as claiming the Providence Cup for horses and galloways Showing Show Hunter Qualities.

NSW barrister and keen horsewoman , Melissa Gillies was called in second to work in the class for Novice Show Hunter Over 16hh, but a wayward cameraman put, 'Beyond Reasonable Doubt' momentarily off his game and they finished in sixth place. Later in the day Clint Bilson rode "Beyond Reasonable Doubt' to win the gents hunter.

There have been a couple of cameo appearances this show and today it was the turn of well known and successful exhibitor, mark Tarrant to make an appearance and he made the most of it. Riding Brian Scholes', 'A Welcome Stranger' Mark won the class for Novice Show Hunter 15.2-16hh and went on to be declared Best Novice Show Hunter Horse.

Brooke Wheeler's, 'Royal Dancer' by Royal Hit took take second place in the class for Novice Show Hunter 15.2-16hh.

Stephanie Barrington rode the Barrington and McCormack nomination, 'Dior' by Zabeel to take second place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh. They also made the Pope Cup Top Ten.

James Heazlewood rode Andrea Bradley's , 'KP Mastermind' to fifth place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh and second place in the Gent's Hack class.

Well known and successful Melbourne Royal exhibitor, Kara Woolcock rode her, 'DP Popstar' to win the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Rebecca Phillips', 'Wesswood Masterclass' took third place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Wonderful to see her back in the show ring, Courtney Christie rode her mother, Francesca Christie's, 'Manwell' to second place in the class for Novice Hack 15.2-16hh.

Michelle Bryant's, 'Mason Park Milo' won the classes for Novice and Open Show Hunter 15-15.2hh.

Natasha Monckton's, 'DM Player' won the class for Novice Hack Over 16.2hh.

Briony Randle rode her own, Warren Coyle and Howard Morris' nomination, 'Entourage' to take fourth place in the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh.

Paul Austin rode Abbey Lovell's super 2017 Adelaide Royal Champion Show Hunter, 'Dicavalli Royal Rory' to win the class for Open Show Hunter 15.2-16hh and go on to be declared Reserve Champion Hunter.

Carissa McLeod's nomination, 'Optimal' by Octagonal took third place in the class for Open Hack 16-16.2hh.

Georgia Grenwell rode her own and John De Marco's Rotspon gelding, 'Rotsdom' to make Providence Cup Top Ten.

Successful and popular showing exhibitor, Di MacDonald rode her own and Tony Bayley's, successful, 'Dunelm Icon' to make Providence Cup Top Ten and produce a super workout.

Joshua Clarke rode John De Marco's impressive Zabeel gelding, 'Montreal' to make Top Ten in the Providence Cup.

Brynie Lee rode her lovely working 2016 winner, 'SLM Valentino' to claim the Runner Up award in this year's Providence Cup for Horse Showing Show Hunter Qualities.

Victoria Gorst rode the Kenzig and Gorst's impressive nomination , 'Grets' imported from Holland to make Providence Cup Top Ten.

Michael Christie rode Joh Bailey and Sandra McCann's sensational show horse, 'Mikimoto to win his Open 15.2-16hh class and claim the Pope Cup and the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show Hack Championship.

Catherine Neill rode her impressive Zabeel gelding, 'SLM Mercedes' to win the class for Open Hack 16-16.2hh and make Pope Cup Top Ten.

Michelle Paynter rode her showing star,'DP Amazing' to take fourth place in the class for Open Hack 16-16.2hh and make Pope Cup Top Ten.

Rebecca Farrow rode her 2017 Sydney Royal Champion Hack, 'Stage Presence' to take second place in the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh as well and making Pope Cup Top Ten.

Clint Bilson rode his, 'Da Vinci Code' to make Pope Cup Top Ten.

Rachel Wessel rode her super mare, 'Bella Rossa' by Royal Hit to take second place in the class for Open Show Hunter Over 16hh. Bella Rossa went on to win the class for Lady's Show Hunter and from there they calimed the 2017 Royal Melbourne Show, Show Hunter Horse Championship.

An always busy, Jess Stalling rode The J and R Equestrian nomination, 'Woolaroo Rivulet' by Riverside to take second place in the class for Open Hack 15-15.2hh.

Briony Randle rode Martine Duncan's lovely mare, 'Santa Fe' by San Jose (GER) to win the class for Open hack 15-15.2hh.

Jade Gilbert rode Brooke Wheeler's, 'Phantom Park Suspicion' to win the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh and went on to claim the Best Novice Hack award. They went on to win the First Glance Trophy for Lady's Hack and claimed the Picasso Award for Most Successful Hack over the hack classes at the show.

Jess Stalling rode her 2017 Adelaide royal Champion, 'Taittinger' to win the class for Open Hack Over 16.2hh.The successful horse was also declared Pope Cup Runner Up and Reserve Champion Hack..

Courtney Bird rode her well performed Marquise to win the class for Open Hack Gelding, over 15 hands and not over 16 hands.
