Maison Hunt, all the way from Adelaide in South Australia was thrilled to be competing at her first Royal Show. Maison, with dad, Andrew Hunt along for support, was competing in the class for Girl/Boy Rider Under 7 Years on the fourth day of the ActewAGL Royal Canberra Show.

This morning the popular, successful and elegant show rider Trina Crawford rode the Crawford Twins, 'CT Oasis Sunrise' to take fifth place in the class for Novice Hack 15-15.2hh. A little later Trina, a very experienced rider sustained a serious injury as a result of a freak accident with the horse she was sitting on falling on her whilst still in the line up before the class. Those who witnessed the accident said her helmet saved her life. Trina looks to not have any broken bones but the head injury is concerning so she remains in hospital for observation and all at Horse Deals and the wider showing community wish her well.

Initially started as an eventer by Megan Jones, Rumer Wendt's lovely Thoroughbred took second place in the Novice 16-16.2hh and went on to claim the Open 16-16.2hh class.
Well known and successful Victorian young rider, Vienna Smith rode her, 'Vareki' to fourth place in the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh.
After taking the OTT Reserve Championship on the first day of the show, everyone was keen to get another look at Stephen Gladstone's beautiful, 'Heartbreaker'. Bred in the UK the gelding raced as Boogie Shoes and is by the US stallion, Bertolini out of the French mare, Space time. He won over $100,000 on the track and today won the class for Novice Hack 16-16.2hh and went on to be declared Best Novice Hack and that is the last we will see of him at the 2016 Canberra Royal as he is not entered in the Open classes.
