There were lots of fun and games in between the riding events.

Hayley Andrews from host school Coonabarabran High School jumped in the 12 year old power and speed.

Jess Bull from NEGS posted a quick time in the Flag event. Girls who go to NEGS have the wonderful option of having their horses at school and participate in the Equestrian program.

The Warrumbungle Way is a popular event where riders have to do many activities with their horse to show skill for a number of events. The final phase is called "tricks". Riders have a couple of minutes to impress the judge with any trick on or with their horse. The boys did seem to be the best at this. Michael Paull did impress the judge standing on his horse and cracking the stock whip in both hands.
Annabelle Turnbull from Calrossy Anglican School looked good during the Polocrosse phase of the Warrumbungle Way.
Thomas Himan from Kinross Wolaroi School, Orange, was awarded the perfect score of 10 out of 10 for the trick section of the Warrumbungle Way. Thomas produced an impressive display.
Tara Murray from PLC Armidale produced a double clear round in the 15 year old power and speed.
Making friends is one of the biggest part of the North West Expo.
Gemma Tinney from Northholm Grammar School rode well to win the feature jumping class, the 1.15m Grand Prix.
After four days of non-stop action these good ponies are happy just to stand in line, while their riders enjoy their time at the North West Expo.
The team Barrel Race is a feature of the North West Expo. Riders like to get in first so they can then go and get their horses ready for the hacking tomorrow so they start lining up hours before the class starts. It was am impressive display of youth on horse back. One of the great delights if this event is that riders can go in both the barrel race and the hacking.
On a freezing evening Rhys Mortimer from Wee Waa High School posted a very fast time in the Barrel race. Wee Waa High is famous at this event for being undefeated in the A Grade Polocrosse Final since 2010.
Gabrielle Worth from Snowy Mountains Grammar heads to the finish line in the Team Barrel Race. Most riders completed their barrel race under lights in very frosty conditions.
