2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show

Last year Emil Riley caused a sensation at Sydney Royal with her super talented mare, 'Rhapsody In Blue'. This year the Mr Blue out of a Daley K mare proved that she is far from a one show wonder. This morning Emily and her grey mare backed up a good show and were the only combination to jump a double clear to claim the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Amber Fuller is pictured during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix riding Marylou Potts' 'C Aretino' (Ulixes/CP Argentina) that was declared Best Performed Part 3 Horse, Best Performed Young Jumping Horse and also took out the Samuel Horden Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Most Successful Jumping Horse of the Show.

Aaron Hadlow from Dapto in NSW clears the Sydney Harbour Bridge (built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games) riding his talented, 'Vahlinvader' (Valhalla/Brilliant Invader mare) that jumped a good four penalty first round in the tough Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix this morning.

Rhys Stones is pictured riding his successful Part 2 horse, 'Oaks Altador' (Conquistador/Oaks Altes) during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix this morning.

Amanda Madigan is pictured aboard the Diamond B Farm's impressive eight year old, imported Balou Du Rouet stallion, 'Baluga' during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Seventeen year old Savanna Hopkinson has had a super show and is pictured aboard her, 'Barrichello' that was declared Best Performed Part 2 Horse. This morning Savanna and Barrichello took third place jumping four and clear in the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix. Later in the day, Savanna rode her Zenzation to take third place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Grand Prix. From the combined efforts of her two horses Savanna was awarded the ES Playfair Perpetual Trophy for the Most Successful Rider in the Jumping competition. A pretty good effort at just 17.

Ally Lamb has had a super show with a number of young horses including Part 3 entry, 'Dennison Park Combat', a talented seven year old gelding by Clinton II that jumped clear and four to take fifth place in the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix.

Amanda Proctor drove the Ragg and Proctor Show Team's, 'Glenwood Look At Me' to take out the class for Authentic Period Turnout. Amanda dressed for church in 1917 drove an authentic Sydney Brass Sulky.

Shelly Brodie dressed as a 1910 Suffragette drove, 'Brofour Lovin It' in an authentic Sydney Brass Sulky to take third place in the class for Authentic Period Turnout.

Popular and successful Queensland jumping rider, Clem Smith is pictured aboard the New Zealand bred, 'Delilah' during the Winning Appliances Grand Prix.

James Hetherington from Duri in NSW really hit form at the right time with his Carbine gelding, 'Jaybee Caribus' that jumped two super clear rounds to win the most prestigious class of the 2016 Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Winning Appliances Sydney Royal Grand Prix.

The Diamond B Stud's, 'Diamond B Vigo' a 17hh mare by Vivant out of Diamond B Ego's full sister was another horse to perform very well in Part 1 at Sydney. Ridden by Amanda Madigan the mare jumped four and four to take sixth place in the Winning Appliances Grand Prix.

Vicki Roycroft's, 'Congo Z' took out the David Asimus Memorial Perpetual Trophy for Best Performed Horse in Part 1 and today jumped clear and four to take fifth place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Grand Prix.

Graham Ware drove the Wares Livery Stables', 'Mighty Mouse' to claim the Delivery Horse Championship.

Peter O'Regan is pictured at the reins of his own and the Nagero Stud's Champion Non Hackney Pony/Horse Stallion/Colt in Harness, 'Nagero Phoenix'.

Vince Corvi took out the Supreme Non Hackney Horse/Pony award with his own and Corinne Collins', 'Roseair Manikato'.

Kevin Collins from St Germains in Victoria is pictured at the reins of his charming, 'Worella Park Monty' during the Champion Delivery Horse drive off.

Bridget Coster is pictured at the reins with Harrison Collins aboard the Collins and Coater nomination, 'Toff' that claimed the Reserve Delivery Horse Championship.

Andrew Lamb from Gippsland in Victoria shows great concentration and intent as he pilots his, 'CP Argento' to jump eight and four to take tenth place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Royal Grand Prix.

Matt Afford from Queensland jumped eight and four riding his , 'Kaluna Salute' to take ninth place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Royal Grand Prix.

Becky Jenkins now resident in Queensland is never out of the ribbons and today jumped four and four riding her Metall mare, 'RSB Jacana' to take seventh place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Grand Prix.

Sharon Slater jumped a lovely double clear (one of just two) riding , 'CP Aprilla' to take second place in the Winning Appliances Sydney Royal Grand Prix.

Billy Raymont was first out in the Grand Prix today riding his 17 year old Thoroughbred, 'Stardom'. The gelding by Grosvenor made it look easy , however it proved to be otherwise with only two others able to produce a clear round. Last to go in the second round, Billy and Stardom were up on time, but just rolled a rail in the process which relegated them to fourth place on time.
