Sam Buchanan won the Sydney World Cup Qualifier at SIEC last year and his first round clear today aboard his ebullient, 'Diamond B Vixen' put him in the box seat for victory today.  They were clear until the very last fence in the second round which fell much to the dismay of the crowd. That coupled with a time penalty saw them finish in fourth place.

Tom McDermott and his ,'Airtime Z GHP' jumped four and four to take fourth place in the Sydney Grand Prix/CSI/W. On the strength of his success at the show Tom took out the ES Playfair Perpetual Trophy for "Most Successful Rider In Jumping Contests".

"Been there and done that". Billy Raymont's Stardom has been in many Sydney Royal prize lineups. Certainly enough to know that there are carrots in it for him. Long time and popular jumping steward, Dave Chittick is in charge of the presentation carrots and the canny horse just kept inching closer and closer to Dave until eventually he got his nose in the carrots.

The Led ANSA classes were judges today and the line up in the various Gelding classes was impressive with many show horses having their first look at the Sydney arena. The hack programme begins tomorrow. Kirsty Harper-Purcell's Over 16hh winner, 'Newport' was declared Best ANSA Gelding.
