2009 Australian Dressage Championships

NSW rider, Melinda Morris rode her Weltmeyer gelding, 'TS Schyborne' to fourth place in both the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B, 67.31% and 4C, 67.83% to take fourth place overall in the National medium Championship.

Dainne White rode yet another Weltmeyer son, her gelding, 'Barjar Winston' to earn 65.18% in the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B.

Kylie Burton from Victoria is pictured with her delightful, Olympic Ferro mare, 'Flowervale Ferraza' competing in the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium Championship.

Rebecca Walshe from the ACT took sixth place in the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4C, 66.83% and eighth place in the 4B, 66.20% for sixth place overall in the National Medium Championship.

South Australian, Hannah Newland riding one of just two Thoroughbreds entered at the Horseland National Dressage Championships rounded up the purpose bred Warmbloods to win the Capricorn/Soiltex Advanced Freestyle with 68.16%. Her ex racehorse, 'Peace Train' is by Euclase out of Crested Lady.

Alexandra Berns , one of the strong contingent from Queensland took fourth place in the Needs For Seeds Prix St Georges Championship with 66.31% riding her Australian Warmblood by Cildara Conquest, 'Kings Legend'.

Victorian rider, Sara McDonald rode her well performed, 'Adlanta Rose', by Rotspon out of the Grand Prix mare, Adloo Georgia, to take seventh place in both the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B, 66.66% and 4C, 66.75%.

NSW rider, Nicola Pfaff's well performed Rotspon stallion, 'Heathmont Echo' earned 62.87% in the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B and 61.50% in the 4C.

Maree Tomkinson and 'Diamantina 4' are a sensational combination. They have it all, looks and talent. The imported seven year old mare by Diamond Hit, owned by Maree and Lynne Saltana, won the Needs For Seeds Prix St Georges with 68.5% and the pair look every inch an international Grand Prix prospect. Later in the day, just as the expectant crowd was waiting to see Maree and Diamantina perform their Inter 1 Freestyle, it was announced that she had to withdraw due to a lost shoe during her warm up.

The popular and talented Tor van den Berge from Queensland rode Cheryl O'Brien's talented and imported Londonderry stallion, 'Lauries As' to take third place in both the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B, 69.72% and 4C, 69.58%. Yesterday they claimed the Manely National Elementary Reserve Championship.

Gina Montgomery took third place in the Capricorn/Soiltex Advanced Freestyle with her beautiful, imported and black Weltmeyer gelding, 'NV Wallmeyer' with 67.25%.

Successful NSW rider, Claire Seidl rode her Hanoverian stallion, 'Worldwide PB' by Weltbuerger to earn, 60.31% in the strong needs For Steeds FEI Prix St Georges Championship.

Krysten Lituri from Western Australia rode her, 'Centura Donnerquest', by Donnerheist and bred by Ros Tippett to take 12th place in the Capricorn/Soiltex Advanced Freestyle.

Mary Hanna rode her own and Rob Hanna super, imported Sandro Hit stallion, 'Shiraz Black' to take second place in both the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B, 70.09% and 4C, 70% to claim the National Medium Reserve Championship.

Cheryl Fort from Victoria rode her Regardez Moi stallion, 'Rendezvous' to earn 63.51% in the Hanoverian Horse Society 4B and 61.08% in the 4C. The 34 strong Medium Championship was a tough and high standard competition.

Kate Taylor-Wheat is really threatening to "steal the show" with her stunning imported World Magic gelding, 'World Star'. The well named horse won both the Hanoverian Horse Society Medium 4B, 70.82% and 4C, 71.66% to claim the national Medium Championship.

Popular Victorian rider, Judy Smith rode her own, Gore and Williamson's Brentano II mare, 'Betty Blue' in the strong Needs For Seeds FEI Prix St Georges Championship.

Talented NSW young rider, Robbie Soster rode the ex Kerry Mack import,'Viviano' by Warkant to take 12 place in the strong Needs For Steeds FEI Prix St Georges Championship with 63.63%.

It's full steam ahead for ACT rider, Rebecca Walshe and her Australian Warmblood by Woodstock, 'XI Overtime' in the Needs For Steeds Prix St Georges Championship. They earned 60.47%.

Melinda Parbery has two excellent teachers; her husband Brett and Jane Bruce's outstanding, 'Neversfelde Kudu'. The mare by Kassiber has been a very successful and consistent Small Tour horse for many years and this evening took 1th place in the Gow Gates FEI Intermediate Freestyle with 60.85%.

Well known in the hack ring, Jason James from Victoria is another Showing rider to take to the dressage arena. Jason is pictured riding Laurie Lash's, 'Cornell's Winning Formula' by Northern Achilles in the Gow Gates FEI Intermediate Freestyle.

Kaz Roe from Queensland produced an entertaining and good scoring Freestyle riding her imported 'For Joy', by Fabriano, for fifth place with 66.55% in the Gow Gates FEI Intermediate Freestyle.

Ros Tippett from Western Australia produced a polished and entertaining Freestyle to the theme of Fiddler On The Roof, riding her impressive, 'Broadstone Dramatik' by Demonstrator. They took third place in the Gow Gates FEI Intermediate Freestyle with 66.85%.

Roger Fitzhardinge and his Weltmeyer gelding, 'Weltsohn' trot past the in gate during their Gow Gates Intermediate Freestyle test. His proud support crew are looking on as Roger and the typey horse produce a hugely entertaining test to the theme of Italian folk music; complete with hand clapping. They took second place with 68%. Earlier in the day they were also second in the Needs For Steeds Prix St Georges with 68.21%.

2008 National Advanced Champions, Jessica Greelish from Queensland and her wonderful Dutch gelding, Rivendell Parador' by Paradiso made it an impressive Intermediate double. Yesterday they won the Riders Shoppe Intermediate 1 with 67.26% and this evening took out the Gow Gates FEI Intermediate 1 Freestyle with 69.80%.

Heath Ryan and 'Regardez Moi' won the applause meter if not the class. Heath, who most will know has not had the best of years produced a super test with his and Dr Margaret Evans' charismatic and talented stallion to earn 73.25 % and second place in the Bates Grand Prix Freestyle. Heath and "Fabio" were at their swashbuckling best.

Brett Parbery was just a fraction of a decibel behind Heath on the applause meter, but more importantly won the Bates CDI/W Freestyle with a super score of 74.55% riding Carolyn Lieutenant's Salute gelding, Victory Salute. Their performance over the weekend earned them the 2009 Australian Grand Prix Championship and has given them a positive start to their 2010 WEG campaign.
