2009 Geelong Royal Show

Tilley Fair was the face of Geelong Royal Show today. She looks quietly delighted to have just won the class for Rider Under Six Years.

Lisa Luketic rode her 'Avonilla Lodge Coco' to win the class for Open Ponies 11-11.2hh.

Madison Zammit rode Michelle Paynter's 'Waterford Park Premiere' to take second place in the class for Novice Ponies 12.2-13hh and third place in the Open Pony class.

Riley Baker rode her, 'Dainhill Olive' to win the Novice and take second place in the class for Open Ponies 12.2-13hh.

Stephanie Bell rode Joan Bell and the Bellrose Stud's 'Bellrose Park Top Cat' to third place in both the Novice and Open Pony 13-13.2hh. A little later in the day the typey pony was declared Champion Ridden Riding Pony.

Emily McKernan rode Ray Butler's, 'Karlana Opening Night' to fourth place in the class for Novice Pony 13-13.2hh.

Jayden Coates rode his 'Kings Liason' to take fourth place in the C & D Grade Jumping class today.

Jess Barton is pictured with her talented, 'Lamaz' during the C & D Grade Jumping competition today. The former hackie, did not cast a glance over at the showing activity.

Nicole Gobbs made a stylish jump aboard her, 'My Ishil' during the C & D Grade Jumping class today.

Sarah Matthews is pictured with Penny Brown's Reserve Champion Led and winning Ridden Connemara, 'Celtic Santolina'.

Judge and well known hacking competitor, Jenny Foster is pictured with Simon Deleeuw and Kelly Withers' Champion Large Pony, 'Royalwood Song of Spring'. Ridden by Courtney Bird, the lovely pony won the Novice and Open 13-13.2hh classes and claimed an impressive Best Novice/Champion double.

Amelia Sadler did a splendid job with the Riemer Girls' 'Thorpeville Trendy' to win the class for Child's Pony 10.2hh and Under Ridden by a Child Under 12.

Laura Shaw rode her mother, Maria Shaw's 'After Midnight of Astral' to win the class for Child's Pony 13-14hh and take out the Child's Pony Championship.

A busy Tahlia Bird rode Janet Mansley's 'Springtime Solitaire' to win the class for Child's Pony 12-13hh.

Maddi Tabak rode her 'Storybook Coco Chanel' to second place in the tough class for Child's Pony 13-14hh.

Well known and successful young rider, Patrick Moloney was head hunted to take the ride on the Mandalay Stud's , 'Mandalay Pure Silk' that won the class for Open Pony 13.2-14hh and went on to take out the Large Pony Reserve Championship.

Lucinda Fraser took out the Champion Open Led Gelding award with her, 'Holly's Tribute'.

Tori Merygold rode Wendy Waldock's eye-catching, 'Winddale Lloyd' to second place in the class for Show Hunter Pony 12-12.2hh.

Briony Payne rode a lot of miles today, and most of them were successful. Briony is pictured riding Sharon Maynard's, 'Namalie Little Treasure' that won the class for Show Hunter 12-12.2hh.

Zoe Murray from Avenel put on a splendid display riding her super working, 'Nattai Gwyn' to win the class for Show Hunter Ponies11-12hh and go on to claim the Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Understandably, the Welsh dominated the Small Show Hunter Pony classes. Erika Grant rode her delightful , 'Dalgangle Hunterway' to second place in the 11-12hh class and went on to take the Reserve Champion award.

The Kingsfred Pony Stud's, 'Bimbadeen Emerald' was declared both Champion Led and Ridden Purebred APSB Exhibit.

Ray Butler did the honours with Melanie Marin's 'Kolbeach Gazelle' that was declared Champion Open Led Mare. The lovely pony went on to win the Novice 13.2-14hh Pony Hack class.

Abby Heffer rode the Riemer girls', 'Radford Lodge Candy Cane' to win the Novice Under 12hh and Open 11.2-12hh class and go on to claim the Small Pony Championship.

Six and a half year old Edwina Lumsden rides like a pro. She rode her wonderful, 'Benview Enchanted' to win the Novice 12-12.2hh class and claim the Best Novice Small Pony award.

Tahlia Bird rode Emma and Gloria Barlow's charming, 'Kenda Park Chardonnay' to win the class for Open Pony 1hh and Under.

Alannah Halloran is pictured with her delightful, 'Glen Gwin Singer' during the class for Open Ponies 11hh and Under.

The Silkwood Stud nomination, 'Silkwood Supanova' (Deanhills Benjamin/Silkwood Belladonna) was declared Champion Open Led Stallion/Colt.

Six year old, Delta Wardle is another very young rider to really impress in the show ring. She rode her mother, Linley Wardle's, 'Manorvale Park Toy Soldier' to claim the Reserve Champion Small Pony award.

Maddi Tabak is pictured with Celeste Amezdroz's, 'Naruni Park Addition' that took second place in the class for Novice Ponies Under 12hh and third place in the class for Open Ponies 11.2-13hh.
