2011 QRHA Ride & Slide Affiliate Qualifier

Warren Backhouse puts Collateral Damage through his paces in the Green Horse event at the QRHA Ride & Slide Qualifier at Maryborough International Equestrian Park.

Wade Powell rode Jessies Dreamchaser in the Limited Non-Pro & the Youth 14 to 18 Years events. The pair placed second in the latter.

Sliding into the light are Smart Choco Lena & Gavin Mutzelberg, equal second placegetters in the Limited Non-Pro.

Micro Chip & Karen Lowe were the winners of the Limited Open at the QRHA Ride & Slide Qualifier.

Third place in the Limited Open event went to Chicks Navajo & Jolene King.

The Youth 14 to 18 Years Reining was taken out by Wade Powell riding Onya Wotshername.

The Judge of the three days of the QRHA Ride & Slide Qualifier was Mrs Susan Camfferman.

The reining fraternity believes in starting them young.

After competing in the Green Horse class, Reining Australia committee member Kathy Murphy took a break to enjoy the warming rays of the winter sun & a peanut butter sandwich.

Reining judge, club secretary, competitor & all-around hard worker on behalf of the sport Lynda Gray mans the secretary's box at the QRHA Ride & Slide Qualifier.

First place in the Limited Non-Pro & third place in the Non-Pro went to RBH Whizz Kid & Thea Griffin.

Ros Hunting & Decked Out Calboy give it their best shot in the Limited Non-Pro event.

The victors in the Non-Pro were Hasta La Vista & Hayley Backhouse with a grand score of 73.

Steve Baker & Oaks Miss Lena were competitors in the Non-Pro Reining.

Attacking the ground in their bid to secure a win in the Open are Whizz Destiny & Shaun Saunders. They placed fourth with a score of 72.5.

Equal fourth placegetters in the Intermediate Open were Sunrise Calgirl & Ian Kindt.

Like a speeding bullet, Whizpy Little Step & Warren Backhouse rip into a stop during their Open Reining performance for which they scored a 73 and third placing.

Coming in for a sweet landing are Uno Chick & Sue Franks, the third placegetters in the Intermediate Open & second placegetters in the Limited Open.

Katie Jamieson & Whizz Remedy go power walking during their run in the Intermediate Open.

Dr House & Noel Watson bury it during their run in the Open. The pair claimed a win in the Intermediate Open & second place in the Open with a score of 73.5.

Fresh from their win in the 2011 QRHA Futurity, Shaun Saunders & Predator contest the Open at the Ride & Slide for a good score of 71.

Backlit by the late afternoon sunlight, Ruf Lil Renee* & Warren Backhouse finish off a great run to score 74.5 and the win in the hotly contested Open Reining.

Equal second placegetters in the Senior Horse, second in the Non-Pro & the winners of the Prime Time Non-Pro, Sunrise Calgirl & Ian Kindt.

Second in the Intermediate Open & fourth in the Open were Tania Powell & Onya Wotshername.

Fourth place in the Non-Pro went to Leave Mahat On & Carmel Osborne.

The Senior Horse reining winners with a score of 70.5 were Dr House & Noel Watson.

Equal second placegetter in the Green Horse event was Who Whizz A Honey ridden by Noel Watson.

Limited Non-Pro contestants, DCS Kentucky Rein & Laura Wood.

Dougals Last Lena "hangs ten" with Joanna Manz aboard during their run in the Limited Non-Pro. The pair finished equal second.

The winners of the Rookies Professional event were Whizz With Style & Leanne Bartlett.
