Show jumpers traveled from far and wide to attend Border Districts Show Jump club spring Grand Prix at the Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre on Corys Road in Thurgoona.
On Saturday morning and icy wet Antarctic blast blew in making things very cold taking the wind chill temperature to below zero for much of Saturday and Sunday morning. But that didn't stop the show jumping with 250+ rides in ring 1 and 200+ rides in ring 2. Both surfaces whilst wet were stable and firm.
Saturday saw the EA official one round power and speed events in ring 1 and unofficial classes in ring 2 on both days.
Sunday was championship day in ring 1 with the major event being the Betty McVean Memorial Grand Prix. The Grand Prix was was well contested with over twenty entries, this years Grand Prix was taken out by Stephen Dingwell from Canberra on Cavalier Du Rouet. The other major event for the weekend was the Mini Prix and it was taken out by Angela Dobbin and Yarra Valley Jelly Bean from Yarra Glen Victoria.
