A very impressive line up of around 80 Youth Judges ranging in age from 8 yrs to 21 yrs were put through their paces in the National Youth Show Judging Competition.
Champion Junior Handler went to Amy Parkinson with RAWDON CHARLIES ANGEL after winning their Junior Handler 11 & under 13 yrs class.
Champion Youth Handler was awarded to Troy Vale with CALIOPE ETHEN after winning his Handler 13 & under 15 yrs class.

Miranda O'Brien rode KRISTALENA MISS PRISS as her mount in the Rider 18 & under 21 years class to take out Champion Youth Rider and went on to be awarded Supreme Rider.
Sam Evans competed at the National Youth Show riding DOONGARA POWER PATROL to be awarded Hi Point Horse & Rider Combination 18 & under 21 yrs.
Katrina Wilson took out Champion Junior Rider with her mount BRIGADOON STYLISH PANTHER after winning her Rider 11 & under 13 yrs class.
Supreme Hack was awarded to DOONGARA WILL POWER ridden by Brodie Howe after taking out Champion Hack ridden by a Youth Rider.

The last thing you would expect to see at a horse show is a baby wombat but whilst waiting for her DressageTest, Anna Wilson nursed this very cute baby her family had found after the mother was killed on the road and they have been caring for it ever since.
Carly Meyers from Atherton in far North Queensland was loaned her horse CEDERVALE JILLAROO by the Young Family to compete and was enjoying the opportunity to compete at such a large event. Carly is pictured competing in the Dressage 15 & under 18 yrs competition.

Chloe Atfield riding ADIOS MAHOGANY was the winner of the 11 & under 13 yrs Challenge and 1st in the Station Horse in the same age group.
Teigan Meyers rode WUNDURRA SCHYLEE during the National Show and judges Emma & David Nash selected her as the recipient of the Encouragement Award.
It was a family affair for Townsend & Ava Curtin who both received Hi Point Awards for the National Show, Townsend receiving the Hi Point Horse & Rider Combination 13 & under 18 yrs and Ava the Hi Point Horse & Rider Combination 11 & under 13 yrs.
The final event for the 3 days of the National Youth Show competition was the Polocrosse competition which offered the young riders yet another activity, with a combination of experienced polocrosse players and some who had never played previously, giving them the opportunity to try their hand.

Laura Lawrence riding CEDAR DOWNS LIMITED EDITION won the Working ASH 11 & under 13 years and went on to take out Champion Junior Working.
Supreme Working Horse was awarded to WALKERS JOKER ridden by Brendon Weiss after they took out Champion Youth Working.
Georgia Hope rode PEMBERTON MAJOR CONTENDER to place in the Dressage 15 & under 18 yrs competition.
Tom Clare riding BROWN DUKE was the winner of the Challenge 8 & under 11 yrs pictured working in camp during the campdraft section of the Challenge.
Anastasia Martin riding THE ECHO CARINA was the winner of the Draft section of the 13 & under 15 yrs Challenge and went on to be awarded Overall Winner of the Challenge.
David Olsen had a great day winning the Campdraft 15 & under 18 yrs with DOONGARA POWER REPEAT & also taking out the Highest Cutout. David was also the Overall Winner of the Challenge 15 & under 18 years, the largest Challenge age group with approximately 48 competitors, gaining some strong points after winning the draft section of the Challenge & placing consistently throughout the other sections.
