Australian International 3 Day Event 2010

Annabell Armstrong made up somewhat for a misunderstanding yesterday aboard Alex Townsend's ' Salute gelding, 'Sentry Vision' by posting a lovely clear in the final jumping phase. They finished the Bates CIC Two Star in 12th place.

Shaun Dillion, one of a strong contingent from Western Australia is pictured in the Bates CIC Two Star final jumping phase riding 'Allmac Reglance' . They finished the competition just out of the money in 11th place.

Hayley Firelick and 'Bentleigh Oliver' benefited from a great run across country yesterday to take ninth place in the Bates CIC Two Star competition. They are pictured during the final stadium jumping phase.

Successful Victorian rider, Katja Weimann has not had the best of luck at the 2010 Adelaide International Three Day Event. However, she began the final day well by jumping a clear round with her six year old Triathlete gelding, 'BP Cosmopolitan'. They took fourth place in the Bates CIC Two Star with 62.20 penalties.

Popular South Australian rider, Dominic Jones rode Hannah Korhonen-Bannister's 'Paint The Sky' to take eighth place in the Bates CIC Two Star competition.

Well known eventer and Thoroughbred pre trainer, Tim Boland held on to third place by jumping penalty free in the final phase of the Bates CIC Two Star competition riding his imported Selle Francais gelding, 'Mecator Du Ry'.

Robert Palm put in an impressive performance with Cassie Lowe's 'Koko Black' to finish on their dressage score, 50.80 and take second place in the Bates CIC Two Star competition.

Shane Rose as expected put in a super performance riding David and Sandra Burton's stallion, Statford Neo' to win the Bates CIC Two Star competition. The stallion by former Adelaide winner, Statford Novalis (by Ard Black Cat) added just 1.2 cross country time penalties to his dressage score to finish on 47.90 penalties.

Megan Jones is always in demand and happy to give an autograph. Here the Beijing Silver Medalist signs a copy of "An Eventful Life" for a happy customer.

Niki Chapman suffered a little in the dressage phase of the Adelaide CCI Two Star, but finished off well by jumping a good four penalty round aboard, Alex, Deborah and Graham Aldridge's 'Milford Monarch' by Buckwell Park Picasso.

Experienced Queensland rider and trainer, Rebel Morrow jumped a good four penalty round riding her own and Susan McClenaghan's Nediym mare, 'Hillgrove Enviable'. They finished 11th and just out of the money in the Adelaide CCI Two Star competition.

Cassandra Webb improved with every phase of the Adelaide CCI Two Star competition riding her own 'Beckli' .that added only 1.2 cross country time penalties and one jumping rail to finish the Adelaide CCI Two Star competition in seventh place on 65.20 penalties.

Jade Findlay from NSW rode her typey and lovely jumper , 'Frontier Psychiatrist' to sixth place in the Adelaide CCI Two Star competition. They added just one rail and one time penalty in the final stadium jumping phase to finish with 64.90 penalties.

Soigne Jackson from Western Australia helped pay for the trip with her Opera Prince gelding, 'Gold'. They jumped a good final round to take ninth place in the Adelaide CCI Two Star.

Another Western Australian Young Rider, Makayla Wood jumps a beautiful fence with her 'Just Corona' during the final phase of the Adelaide CCI two Star competition.

Western Australian Young Rider, Tegan Lush is clearly delighted with her showjumping round aboard her seven year old Jetball gelding, 'Tempus Fugit'. They jumped clear to finish on their dressage score, 55.60 and take second place in the Adelaide CCI Two Star. Tegan also claimed the Bates National Young Rider Championship and was a member of the winning Western Australian Young Rider Team.

New South Wales rider and trainer, Sandy Lucas has two lovely horses in the CCI Two Star competition. She is pictured with Meredith and Peter Tillett's well named, 'Ever So Clever' that added just one rail to their score on the final day of competition to finish in third place with 59 penalties.

Christine Bates is pictured with her lovely Stirling Sprite gelding, 'Adelaide Hill'. They jumped clear across country yesterday and looked like they would follow suit today. An uncharacteristic two down saw them finish the Adelaide CCI Two Star in fifth place with 63.00 penalties.

Claudia Graham rode her 'Park Street Vision' , a Thoroughbred by Nothin' Leica Dane to take fourth place in the strong Adelaide CCI Two Star competition.

Luke Jones led the field in to the CCI Two Star show jumping phase riding 'Charlatan'. Sometimes it just does not go to plan and this was one of those times. Charlatan lowered five fences and slipped from the placings.

"Hurrah for Haruzac". Christopher Burton acknowledges the applause during his CCI Two Star lap of honour riding Alan Skinner's talented horse that finished on his dressage score, 52.20. Horse Deals were particularly pleased as the Thoroughbred by Gwahir Zodiac has been the subject of an off The Track story.

New Zealand combination, John Twomey and his typey Inaminca gelding, 'Flaunt It' added just three time penalties to an otherwise clear round in the final stadium jumping phase of the Equestrian Australia CCI Four Star. The finished out of the money, just in 13th place.

After a horror start, Katja Weimann finished the CCI Four Star competition well riding Jane Pittard's talented Daley K gelding, 'Pluto Mio' for the addition of just three time penalties. They did however move from 19th to 12th place.

Victorian rider, Adam Benson did well with his former Pony Club mount, 'Enthusiast' to take ninth place in the Equestrian Australia CCI Four Star competition. There is a strong tradition of Pony Club horses going all the way to the Games.

Tallara Barwick's wonderful veteran, 'Chief Justice' looks to have scope to burn during the stadium jumping phase of the Equestrian Australia CCI Four Star competition. They finished well in the money, in seventh place.

Natalie Blundell was another of the eventers to have competed at the showjumping National last week in Canberra and it looks to have paid off with her 'Algebra' over this fence. The 1999 winner (Natalie that is) finished the CCI Four Star competition in eighth place.

Heath Ryan has certainly bred himself a wonderful and very modern eventer in 'Mystery Whisper'. The gelding by Richmeed Medallion has it all; super on the flat and super over the fences. They led after the dressage phase, slipped to fifth with the addition of 19 cross country time penalties and moved up a place today with just one rail down to finish the CCI Four Star in fourth place.

'Koyuna Sun Dancer' may have his fingers crossed in this photo, but there was nothing about luck in Wendy Schaeffer's assured performance at the 2010 Australian International Three Day Event. Just 0.4 of a cross country time penalty kept Wendy and Sun Dancer from a perfect trip. But it was enough to claim victory, 0.50 ahead of Christopher Burton and 2008 Winner , Newsprint. Wendy also took third place with her 'Koyuna Sun Shine'. It was an outstanding performance from the now two time Adelaide Four Star winner, as she is not long back from Europe.

Stuart Tinney and 'Watermark Grayson' certainly look the business in this photograph, and of course they are the business. However, Grayson had an uncharacteristic three down to relegate the short odds combination to fifth place in the Equestrian Australia CCI Four Star.

Lawyer, Emma Mason and her 'FI Pharinelli' make a super effort over this fence during the CCI Four Star stadium jumping. They led the field in to the final phase, but sadly saw their grasp slip to fifth place almost when they had their hand on the trophy. However, it was a good effort and their best performance in the Adelaide Four Star.
