A year to the day that the Shaw family took the pony home, Laura Shaw rode her sister, Sophie-Kate's 'Newington Whispers' to take out the Barastoc Horse Of the Year Runner Up Small Pony award.
The McMahon and McCormick family's, 'Silkwood Angel Wings is nothing short of a super pony and one that will go down in history as one of the absolute greats. Ridden by Holly Lewis 'Angel' captured her third Barastoc Small Pony of the Year title on the trot, making it a total of four. When the others are tired and over it, 'Angel' keeps going forward with her ears pricked. She is and outstanding show pony. A little later on with the same enthusiasm, 'Angel' took out the Conceptions Garlands Leading Rein class, this time with Claudia McMahon in the saddle. 'Angel' also collected the International Challenge Small Pony Championship on Saturday night.

A well performed Hayley Fairless took out the Peter Gahan Challenge Trophy for Girls. Very much like the Good Hands Trophy used to be, the finalists have to all ride an unknown horse, which works very much as a level playing field.

Barastoc this year was almost a Michael Christie benefit show. Today Michael rode Caroline Kuhn's beautiful and well performed, 'Mirinda Eyeliner' to take out the Barastoc Galloway of the Year award. Eyeliner has won this title at least on one previous occasion.

Tania Hay from Tasmania made it an outstanding Barastoc Horse of the Year hat trick with her beautiful 'Consequence', with victory in 2008, 2009 and now 2010. Last night the "overseas" travellers took out the International Challenge Hack of the Year title. We have been told that 'Consequence' will be put in foal this year. She will certainly be a hard act to follow.
You can't keep a classy horse down. Demi Morrison is pictured with her well performed (including a former Barastoc Horse of the Year title), 'Lemrac's Dancing Poet'. They made the Horse of the Year finals today and last night took out the International Challenge Runner Up award.
New combination, Tamara Lee and 'Wingrove Image' are off to a great start together. They made the finals of the Barastoc Horse of the Year and are certain to go on to great success.
