Dressage at the Darwin Royal Show

Fay Hatch and PS Loftin have traveled 1500 kms from Alice Springs to compete at the show, a trip they have done many times. Unlike Darwin, Alice Springs winters are much colder with overnight temperatures around 0C. However, this popular combination won the 4A Assoc. class.

Helena Sangster rode the very cute, Glynyarra Park Cinnabarr in the 1A Assoc. Class.

Natasha Clayton rode Keilor Davinci in the Assoc. 2C.

Leticia Robertson rode Blandford Midnight Edition in the 1C Assoc. Class.

Beth Walker-Rayner and Uhavta Royal Deviant are one of the 330 competitors at this years Royal Show. The population of Darwin is quite transient and this also apply's to the riding population, but this year there are strong numbers in all events.

Molliy Jack and extravagance competed in the 1A Assoc. class.

Megan Burke rode Yindi to 3rd place in the Assoc. 1C.

Tegan Copland had a busy day competing in a number of classes with Cape du Couedic.

Kisten Leslie and Dryandri Jackson competed in the 1C Assoc class.

Nikola Copland rode Sanlirra Cavalier in the Assoc 1C.

Kelli Clark rode her colourful Thoroughbred, Loud to third place in the Assoc. 2C.

Shannah Mudge rode the well named Frodo Baggins in the Assoc 2A.

Anne Marie Hayman rode Perchance To Dream to win the Assoc 2A.

Well known local competitor, Tracy Syrimi took second place in the Assoc 2C riding her 5 year old Thoroughbred,, Russel Ravel. Often a failed race horse in the NT does not have an easy life when they finish racing and this was the case with this young horse, but now he is in good hands and after a long spell is showing a lot of potential both in the dressage arena and over jumps.

Sharon Le Mesurier rode her failed race horse, Sing Me Emily Lacy in the Assoc. 2C.

Ella Spinks rode Rathowen Storm Warning on a warm Darwin morning in the 1C Assoc class. With an overnight temperature of 22C and 33C today it is hard to believe how cold it is in Melbourne.

Chelsea Maxwell rode Chief Eagle Eyed in the Assoc 2C. Competitors in Darwin have a very limited competition season due to the weather, May to August are the best months for riding.

Hannah Conley rode the former Darwin Royal Champion with the Shaw family , Little Paddocks Concerto in the Assoc. 2A.

Shannah Mudge rode Voluptuous Me in the Assoc 2C.

Jamee Dean and Cool Ace competed in the Assoc. 2C.

NT Inter-School representive Olivia Ruzsicksa rode Diamante Sky in the Assoc 2A.

Catherine Mulvaney rode her good looking Millenium City in the Assoc. 2C.

Chloe Klein rode Man of Honour in the Assoc. 2C.

Earlier today Juanita Porter rode Braefoot Park Talisman to win the Assoc. 1C. Here Juanita rides Rosedale Candlelight in the Assoc 1A. Juanita has produced a number of good horses from the Top End but her most famous is Lemracs Dancing Poet.

Jacky Divall rode Newhaven Lightfoot Clancy to second place in the Assoc 1C.

Chelsea Maxwell rode El Gems Jagsta in the 1C Assoc class. The Darwin Royal begins with one day of Associate Dressage, then one day of Official dressage, while the show sets up around the horse competitors. Then the show is opened to the public for three days of a traditional Royal Show.

Brodie Robertson rode Oakland Park Candyman in the 1C Assoc Class.

Chloe Klien rode Man Of Honour to second place in the 1C Assoc.

Madina Hayman rode her well trained Australian stock Horse, Kiana Blue Murder to win the Assoc 5A .

Local horse trainer, Lisa Mutimer and her Arnage Ritzy Business produced a nice test in the Assoc. 3A.
