Equitana Sydney 2011

Business was brisk at Goodwood Saddlery, one of the many popular stands at Equitana Australia 2011..

The Revelwood Stud and Waterview Park stand is one of the best decorated and popular stands at Equitana, and there was plenty of interest in all the beautiful stallions they promote.

Danielle Dierks made an impressive Dressage Masterclass appearance riding the Mulawa Stud's imported German stallion, 'Aber Hallo 29'.

Edward Gal (pictured) and Hans-Peter Minderhoud lived up to all the pre Equitana hype. A capacity crowd enjoyed every minute of the three hour Equitana Dressage Masterclass.

The always popular internationally successful Eventer, Megan Jones gave a wonderful lecture/demonstration which today concentrated on how to jump an apex.

Ian Laurie rode his 'Glenmore Partnership Jag' by Acres Destiny to equal third place in the Equitana Campdrafting Championship with a three round score of 255.

Troy Palmer rode his well performed Acres Destiny stallion, 'Binnia Impressive Destiny' to second place in the Equitana Campdrafting Championship with a three round score of 258.

Well known horseman, Warwick Lawrence and his wonderful 'Minimax' by Conductor took seventh place with a three round score of 240. The Fresian heifers used proved to be quite a challenge and were surprisingly fast.

Sarah Moir, lead violinist of the celebrated 'String Angels' produced a memorable highlight of Equitana Australia 2011 when she serenaded Heath Harris' Thoroughbred 'Okie' in an unforgettable liberty performance. The String Angels and the liberty performance entertained the capacity crowd half way through the Equitana Grand Final Grand Prix Freestyle.

Heath Ryan and 'Regardez Moi' are back at the top. Riding to new Freestyle music , the popular pair produced the winning test for 71.95%.

Rozzie Ryan rode beautifully and produced an as always entertaining test riding Olivia Bunn's 'GV Bullwinkle' partly to the haunting sound of Leonard Cohen's Halelujah.. They took fifth place in the Grand Final Freestyle with 68.32%.

New Zealand rider, Lousia Hill looks justifiably pleased with her 'Bates Antonello'. The ten year old gelding by Anamour won the Equestrian Grand Final Grand Prix CDI/W yesterday with and impressive 68.46% and tonight was second in the Grand Prix Freestyle with 70.27%.

It is always wonderful to have guests give riding clinics, but nothing beats watching them ride. Hans-Peter Minderhoud produced a beautiful Freestyle demonstration riding Susie Duddy's 'DP Weltmeiser' and bettered his famous countryman on the applause meter.

A beautiful rider and beautifully elegant. Edward Gal is pictured riding Kerry Mack's charming stallion, 'Mayfield Pzazz' in a Freestyle demonstration that he clearly enjoyed. The Dutchmen were a real treat.
