Cooper Oborn's super 15.1hh gelding, 'Kirby Park Irish Joker' drops off the Ariat Big Leap on the CCI Three Star cross country course. The little horse jumped brilliantly, but sadly incurred quite a few time penalties.

Megan Jones has the breaks on Georgia Connolly's well named, 'Flowervale Maserati' as they dive in to the Shark Net water at 5AB on the Bates CCI Three Star cross country. They added just 2.8 time penalties to hold on to their dressage first place and head in to the final phase with just over a fence in hand on 41.60 penalties.

Will Enzinger had a great day in the Bates CCI Three Star competition. He is pictured at the Shark Net water aboard Stephanie Pearce's thoroughbred gelding, 'TS Jamaimo' by Urgent Request that holds sixth place heading in to the final jumping phase. Will also holds second place riding David Glover's Regardez Moi gelding, 'Ruban Son' that added just two cross country time penalties.

How about this for a good front end? Tarryn Proctor's, 'ESB Irish Descent' makes sure of the duck in the water at the Shark Net AB on the Bates CCI Three Star cross country course. They incurred no jumping penalties but time penalties see them in 16th place.

Shane Rose is pictured full of intent aboard the Wischer family's super jumping imported Holstein gelding, 'CP Qualified'. Sadly the CCI Three Star debutante felt the length of the course and a misunderstanding at the RACV Insurance Rose Garden just two fences from home saw the talented pair add 20 penalties, which saw them slip from second place to 14th heading in to the final jumping phase.

Simon Tanish rode Caroline Taylor's, 'GV Serenest' by Wirragulla Hamlet to jump clear and remain on their dressage score of 51.30 which moved them from eleventh to sixth place in the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star going in to the final showjumping phase tomorrow.

Sheridan Sullivan from Queensland is pictured aboard her , 'Clifton Tasman' during the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition. They jumped clear to move from 56th after the dressage to 29th heading in to the final jumping phase.

Tallara Barwick is pictured making a super jump aboard Lesley Hargreaves' delightful Copabella Visage gelding, 'Copabella Verdi'. They jumped clear jumping and time to move up from sixth place after the dressage to fifth place going in to the final phaseof the CCI One star. One would expect more upward movement from this pair in the final phase.

Jessica Nagel from NSW looks full of purpose aboard her, 'It's A Rumour' during the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition cross country phase. They jumped clear over the tough One Star track to hold 34th place going in to the final phase.

Nikki McLaughlin and her , 'Ego Fabelhaft;' by Camelot Ego Z look to be making a nice entry in to the Shark Net water complex. Sadly all did not go well during their CCI One Star cross country run and they retired later in the course.

Samantha Cesnik from NSW makes a good jump during their clear run around the RACV Insurance CCI One star cross country course. Fifty four of the 65 to enter the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition completed the tough cross country phase.

Victorian rider, Jacqui Bladier makes a lovely jump aboard her 'Ramirus' during the CCI One Star cross country.They added just 7.6 time penalties.

Hazel Shannon from NSW jumped clear aboard her Thoroughbred, 'Clifford' by Side Spin to move from 21st place to tenth place heading in to the final jumping phase.

Jemma Clark from Victoria and her , 'Foxdale Amalfi' a Thoroughbred by Hurricane Sky moved from 15th to seventh place after a clear CCI One Star cross country run.

Victorian professional rider, Robert Palm jumped clear aboard his Warmblood gelding by APH Speigal, 'Parklands Oakley' to hold first place in the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition on his dressage score of 43.91.

Bridget Crosato and her, 'Silenzio II' jumped clear in the Racing Victoria CCIJ One Star competition to hold third place heading in to the final jumping phase on 50.66.

NSW rider, Karla Wicks and her 'Foxhill Isabella' jumped clear to move up one place to head in to the CCI One Star final jumping phase in fourth place with 47.61 penalties.

Victorian rider, Chelsea Priestley jumped clear aboard her, 'Ashleigh Longtime' a Warmblood gelding by Longchamp to hold on to second place after the cross country phase of the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition with 44.36 penalties..

Tegan Cook and her Danzero Thoroughbred gelding, 'The Libertine' jumped clear to move from 25th place after the dressage phase to eleventh place going in to the final jumping phase of the RACV Farm Insurance CCI One Star competition..

Elizabeth Crosato is just one place ahead of her sister in the CCIJ One Star competition. Riding her, 'Koyuna Bandit' by Koyuna Majestic Supreme they moved from third to second place with a clear run across country.

With a display of athletic riding and the value of keeping your eyes up, Charlie King from Victoria, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat riding his quick thinking and brave, 'Charlton Veeza'. Despite this close call they posted a clear cross country run in the CCIJ One Star competition to hold on to their dressage lead with 47.82 penalties.

Sam Fascher makes a beautifully balanced entry in to the Shark Net water riding his Australian Stock Horse, 'Valley' by Kirkby's Stud Remedy.They jumped clear around the Logan Floats CCI Two Star cross country course and hold fifth place heading in to the final jumping phase on 52.10.

The crowds at the Melbourne International Three Day Event were bigger than ever this year and more like an English event . The sunny winter's day helped.

Amanda also holds the lead in the CCI Two Star aboard another of Michelle Clough's Loxley by Woodleigh Faust on their dressage score of 45.00 penalties.

Successful Australian international rider, Tim Boland is pictured aboard the Waratah Equestrian Pty Ltd's 'Gorsehill Star' by VDL Arkansas that jumped clear around the Logan Floats CCI Two Star competition. They hold eighth place going in to the final jumping phase.

Kate Rogers is pictured making a lovely jump aboard her Thoroughbred, 'Papa's Dream' by Night Shift on the Bates CCI Three Star cross country course. A stop early in the course has them in 19th place going in to the final jumping phase.

Popular and successful Olympic rider, Sonja Johnson, an enthusiastic sheep farmer from WA holds fourth place in the Bates CCI Three Star riding Rebecca Bells', 'Belfast Mojito' . They added just 1.2 cross country time penalties, the third best time of the day in the Three Star competition.

Adam Benson's super 18 year old Thoroughbred, 'Enthusiast' by Sky Chase makes a super leap over the Just Country Ha Ha on the Bates CCI Three Star cross country course.

Jess Somerfield from Queensland is pictured riding her 'Wildfires Revenge' over the wagon in the IRT Farmyard on the CCI Three Star cross country course.
