NBHA Barrel Race Finals

2012 Open 3D Runner Up winners was Tess Gealy, shown here riding Trumby.

NHBA Barrel super star- the palomino QH stallion Bar K Pure Gold & Kirsty Nagel were awarded Hi Point Horse of the Year at the NBHA Awards night after the finals. They were also the 2D Champions of the Finals.

If Kristy Banks can run barrels & love riding her horse, there is no reason for anyone else not to. Kristy is a quadriplegic- breaking her back after a race fall (she was a jockey). This amazing horsewoman- stapped aboard her faithful Bob, tore around the barrels clocking a 18.099 second run & she wore a smile the entire time.

Fastest time in the 2nd Go Round of the Open Finals was the Throughbred mare Fay, ridden by Jordan Moore, they clocked a 15.555 second run.

Jenny Harth & Koda clocked a good 16.144second run in the 2nd Go Round of the Open Finals.

Katrina Pugsley & Oscar scored a 16.3 second round in the 2nd Round of the Open, Katrina took home a swag of awards at the NBHA Awards night, including Runner Up High Point 1D & 2D.

Open 4D Champions at the NBHA Finals was Bec Brazier aboard Lil Miss.

Open 3D Champions after the Finals Aggregate scores was Paula Donovan aboard her paint mare Amber.

Open 2D High Point Horse of the Year was Sue Bartlett's Peppys Cuttin Harley.

2012 End of Year award winner Kirsten Storey & Shogun were awarded the Junior Runner Ups in 2nd Division.

Tamika Anderson & Prince clocked the fastest time of the 2nd Go Round of the Juniors Final, they were also awarded the 1D Junior Championship at the NBHA End of Year Awards Ceremony.

Melanie Steadman & Dan were awarded the Champion 2D winners of the Finals. Mel was also 2012 Runner Up Junior 1D Champion, 2D & 3D Champion aboard her other horses for the year.

2012 4D High Point Horse Monet was also 2012 Open 4D Champion ridden by Greg Bruce.

John O'Brien had 4 horses at the finals and took home a swag of prizes at the Awards Night, including - a€Ž2012 Hi Point Rider, 2012 Men's Champion, 2012 2nd Division Champion, 2012 3rd Division Champion, 2012 Pole Bending Champion & 2012 1st Division Finals Aggregate. He took home 3 trophy saddles & 6 buckles for his efforts!

Fastest Time in the Pole Bending was Denae Hart & Cruise with a time of 23.114 seconds.

Fastest Go Round score for the 5-10's went to Brandie Burgess aboard Hank, who were the 2012 High Point Winners of this class.

No matter how hard she sent him, Shari Burgess could only get an extended trot out of Bundy, who was worth his weight in gold for the care he took of his young charge.

Darby Beel cowboyed up aboard Rhondu Oaks Player to win the 5-10 Yrs class after 3 go rounds in the finals.

Lachlan Beel & Dude were the 2012 Finals Qualifier in the 5-10 Years class.

A broken navicular bone didn't stop Kerrie Anderson from compeiting in the finals aboard Prince & was awarded the Taemi Fisher Memorial Award at the NBHA Awards Night.

Knowing she had to pull out all stops in her 3rd round of the Open to secure her qualifying spot to the USA in 2013, Kate Ford rode Mr Mojo with all barrels standing, clocking 17.851 seconds & winning the Runner Up 4D Open Champion title for 2012.

Long time supporter of the NBHA & current president Lynda Graham was awarded a life time membership for her efforts during the NBHA Awards Night.

Laura Bostock & Lethal Force round the 1st drum to clock a 15.349 second run in round 2 of the Open Finals.

Montana Harth & Missy round the first barrel in the Junior Barrels final clocking a run of 18.421 seconds.

2012 Runner Up Junior 4D Champion Renee Quinn drops a rein and grabs the horn as Sirocco gets down deep to turn the 2nd barrel during the finals. The pair clocked a 15.948 second run in the their final go round.

Still can chasing at 26 years young... Palleo Doc took Tayla Bright around the Junior Barrels, though his alzheimers kicked in during one round, when he tried to take Tayla around the barrels the wrong way. Tayla fixed him up and away they went! The pair clocked a 16.883 second run in the 3rd go round.

Skye Evans & her quick mare 3D clocked the fastest time of the Finals, a smoking hot 14.629 seconds.

Junior 3D Champion Ellie Granger rode Spin A Yarn at the finals. She pinched the gelding off her dad Ty Granger, who had him as his rope horse, good luck getting him back now Ty!

Bailey Duckett was the Junior 4D Champion after his 3 go round scores were added up for a final aggregate score. He is shown here riding Renegade.
