The super friendly Pacific Arabian A Class Show was held on the 14th and 15th September 2019 at the Maryborough Showgrounds, this show is run by a very small Mackay and District Arabian Group and they do a fantastic job running the show and competing as well. A BBQ was held on the Friday Night as a get together for those people who had travelled early and it was a great opportunity for people to meet and have a chat with lots of laughs.
Saturday's program started off with a fantastic lineup of derivatives in the halter ring and included - Arabian Warmbloods, Anglos, Partbreds, Arabian Ponies, Arabian Riding Ponies, Half Arabians, Arabian Stockhorses and Api Classes. The open ring was judged by Jacqui Langfield who did a fabulous job. Plenty of horses in different types and colours to keep everyone happy. Supreme Derivative Halter horse - Royale Gezann KA.
Purebred Ridden horses followed the halter horses and some really quality horses and riders showed some lovely flashy workouts for good results. Supreme Purebred Ridden - Fames Phantom with Christine Hellyer.
The Junior ring was in full swing on Saturday morning with smiles all around and lots of fun. Jacqui judged the juniors as well and did a fabulous job, making the day fun for the parents and the kids. We had some very excited winners and these kids really are our future showies and pleasure riders. All showed lovely manners and sportsmanship especially Iris Jenkins who won the Judges Choice Garland.
A night program was included with a fantastic lineup of pure and derivative horses vying for the freestyle workout championship, everyone gave it their all with some great backing music. It was a close competition but an eventual deserving winner in the Purebred section sashed was Christine Hellyer and Fames Phantom showing some lovely work. The Derivative Ridden Winner was Petrina Gear and her very beautiful Just Magnetic.
Next in were the Liberty horses, this is always a fun class and with the horses left to do their thing we were treated to some really nice moving horses who were happy to show off for their owners. The winner of the Purebred Liberty was the show off Artistry MI owned by Hollie Webster and the winner of the Derivative Liberty was the flashy Halima's Prince Charming owned by Lee-Ann McClelland. The Liberty winners were presented with amazing paintings done by a local artist - Tammy Martin from Painted Brush Studios. These paintings are stunning.
Sunday started with the purebred halter horses and these horses put on a real show for the spectators, some lovely up and coming youngsters strutted their stuff. Supreme Purebred Halter horse - Aphrodites KA.
The purebreds were followed by the derivative saddle horses who put in some great workouts, it was great to see some youngsters coming through and handling the relaxed atmosphere very well. Supreme Derivative Saddle horse - Ellabrae Debonaire with Jessica Fedrick.
