There was lots of drama at the state Games Championships, there were many tears when things did not go quite right but the Sack Race did produce lots of laughter. Elyse Blackley and Sammy head to the finish line for the Kangaroo Ground Pony Club.

William Symington and Salty head to the line to pass the ball for the Oaklands Pony Club in the Ball and Cone race.

Mason Lees and Phantom gallop back for the Macedon Pony Club in the Ball and Cone Race. The Macedonia Pony Club went on to take out the State Games Championship.

Carrie Jones and Cisco look good in the Ball and Cone Race for the Nowa Nowa Pony Club.

Hayley Turner rode Ember for the Nowa Nowa Pony Club in the Ball and Cone Race.

Amber Rendell and Lightning were lightening fast for the Nowa Nowa Pony club in the ball and Cone race.

Regular showing rider, Felicity Johnson rode her delightful Welsh A, Pop Eye in the Cone and Ball Race for the Warragul Pony Club.

Keely McGoven and Jasper head to pass the ball in the Ball and Cone Race for Doongala Pony Club.

Will Peterson rode Brenwyn Toblerone for the Macarthur Pony Club team that took second place in Heat 1 of the Bending Baton Relay. Each team competes in six different games, scoring points in their heats.

Baillie Keast rode Dalgangle Maccadania for the Macarthur Pony Club team in the Bending Baton Relay, each team has 6 and/or 7 riders with six riders competing in each event.

Hayley McGrath riding Digger was a member of the Bealiba Pony Club Team that won the second heat of the Bending Baton Relay.

Nine year old Josh Baumgartner and Tommy represented Bealiba Pony Club in the Bending Baton relay.

Bridie Kennedy rode her Clydie cross, Bloomfield George for the Wodonga Pony Club that took second place in heat two of the Bending Baton Relay. The Wodonga Pony Club placed third overall.

Lachy Staats and Nita competed in the Bending Baton relay for the Wodonga Pony Club at the 40th running of the Horseland Pony Club Association of Victoria State Games Championships.

Andrea Ladiges rode her Standardbred Midnight for the Smythesdale/Barwon Heads Team in the Flag Race. There is no breed or colour discrimination at the Games Championships, every size, colour and breed is represented.

Amy Lodge grabs the flag while Polly keeps her eyes on their line to the finish for Smythesdale/Barwon Heads composite team in the Flag Race.

Tess Appleby riding Olivia grabs the Flag for Cohuna-Swan Hill Pony Club team in the Flag Race.

Anna Bell Murray and Barley head to the finish of the Flag race for the Cohune-Swan Hill team.

Jarrred Fitzpatrick and Apache quickly get the flag for the host club Bacchus Marsh in the Flag Race. Along with an excellent cross country course, Bacchus Marsh Pony Club has one of the biggest and best all weather arenas in the State, making the running of the Games Championships safe after a week of rain.

Rachael Huxtable and Romeo look good for the Cannibal Creek Pony Club in the Flag race.

Kate Dyer rode Playtime in the Flag race for Swifts Creek Pony Club.

The Sack race proved lots of fun. Andrea Boote with Summer shows good style to help the BairnsdalePony Club team win their heat of the sack race. The Barnsdale Pony Club team placed fourth overall.

Along with all the different breeds and colours there are some wonderful old horses that have been passed through Pony Club members and re-appear year after year at the Games Championships. Kyla Stewart 13 years old had the help of experienced 28 year old Woody in the Sack Race for the Bairnsdale Club.

The sack race produced a number of different styles some proving better than others. Jasmyn Hamilton leading Coniston Admiration works on the jumping technique for the Shepparton Pony Club team.

Tori Glass and her beauitiful Danhill New Edition look to be enjoying competing at the Horseland Games State Championships for the Shepparton Pony Club.

Bethany Lavery and Biscuit head to the finish in the Sack Race for the St Andrews Pony Club that took second place in their heat.
