The Standardbred Pleasure & Performance Horse Victorian State Championships

Kathleen George rode Off To Dance to take out the Novice State Championship at the Standardbred Pleasure and Performance Horse Association of Victoria, State Championship weekend at Werribee Park.

Event organiser, Shelley Murcutt took time out to ride a test today on her 21 year old, Licorice Twist.

Rebecca Warren rode Mackea Jet to seventh place in the SPPHAV Novice State Dressage Championship. There were not many competitors today but all the horses were a credit to their riders for the time they have put into the training of their former harness horses.

Bridie Brosnan riding Action Kosmos placed third in the SPPHAV Novice State Dressage Championship. Action Kosmos was breed in New Zealand and won $123,234 on the track.

Sarah Marshall rode Starscream to fifth place place in the SPPHAV Novice State Dressage Championship.

At the 25th Victorian Standardbred Dressage State Championship, Kate German rode Down River Road to take out the Novice Reserve Championship.

Tegan Veitch rode Exotic Success to sixth place in the SPPHAV Novice State Dressage Championship.

Kylie Demole rode Rusty to fourth place in the SPPHAV Novice State Dressage Championship. This is the first year the SPPHAV State Championship for dressage and showjumping have been held over one weekend.

Sheridan Meyles rode Lucky Phoenix to take out the Partbred Reserve Championship.

Jodie Thompson rode her interestingly coloured Tramels Surprise, that as a younger horse was classified as a dun to take out the Partbred Championship. Thoroughbred, Arabian and Cyldyesdale stallions crossed with Standardbred mares are producing some good competition horses with excellent temperaments.

Jenny Phillips rode Red Sky At Night to fourth place in both the Open 1A and 1B tests in the Open State SPPHAV Championships.

Cassandra Troon rode her ex-trotter Zinzan to second place in the Open Preliminary 1B State Championship. Zinzan is an impressive looking horse but his racing career statics are not so impressive with winnings of $63.

Brodi Leversha riding her BL Remington rode two good tests to take out the Open SPPHAV Dressage State Championship.

Kathryn Hayes riding Future Bliss placed sixth in the Open SPPHAV Dressage State Championship.

Kelly Stuart-Mitchell rode her well performed harness racer and ridden horse, Gowan Brae to third place in the EA 1A Open SPPHAV State Dressage Championship.

Kate German rode Tealsby Lyle to take out the Open Reserve Championship at the SPPHAV State Dressage Championships.
