VAS Championships and Summer Royal 2006

Sarina Quick from the Horsham Pony Club rode her 'Barlass Boy' to take sixth place in the Pony Club Rider Under 9 Years .

Joel Pearce from the Findon Pony Club rode 'Moongala Dolamite' into fifth place in the Pony Club Rider Under 9 Years class.

Kate Newton representing the Bawawm Extension Pony CLub won the Pony CLub Rider under 9 Years class.

Pony Club boys were certainly in the minority, but Tom Pearce from the Findon Pony Club won the Pony Club Handler 9 and under 12 and with some help from 'Derlwyn Joshua' was declared Reserve CHampion Pony Club Handler.

What a day! Samantha Whiting from the Bacchus Marsh Pony Club claimed the Champion Rider (first Over 16 class) and Champion Handler awards and took out the Champion Pony Club Mount title with her 'Magic Edition'.

Demi Morrison from the Cobram Pony CLub won the Rider 9 and under 12 and went on to take out the Reserve Rider Championship riding her 'High Flyer'.

A well-performed Lily McEvoy took out the VASL Champion Rider 8 and under 10 award.

A delighted Abby Heffer claimed the Reserve Champion VASL Rider 8 and under 10 award..

Louise Doyle took out the VASL Champion Show Hunter Galloway 14-14.2hh with her very well-performed 'Janlyn Three Wishes'.

Fiona Kitson from Gruyere took out the VASL Reserve Champion Show Hunter Galloway 14-14.2hh award with her 'Oakdown Maximillian'.

Jacqui Devrome rode her own and E Richardson's 'Mallawa Park Legendary' to claim the Small Pony Show Hunter Championship.

Candice Waldhauser representing the Riddles Creek Pony Club took second place in the Pony Club Mount 15-16hh class with her Clydesdale/ Thoroughbred cross, 'Territory'.

Judge and well-known riding coach, Sally Francis, had the job in front of her to set up a task to determine the Pony Club Mount Championship.

You can't miss Courtney's smile! Courtney Remington claimed yet another rider Championship, this time the VASL 12 and under 14 title.

Emma Marie took out the Reserve Championship from a tough 12 and under 14 years VASL Rider class.

Emika Reynolds and 'Oenjay Royal' representing the Cobblers Creek Pony Club (near Bairnsdale) took out the award for Reserve Champion Smartest On Parade 16 Years and Over.

Kobie Notting and 'Snapshot' from the Jeerlang Pony CLub were one of many succssful riders on the Summer Royal Pony Club day.

Caitlin Smith from Euroa took out the VASL Rider 10 and Under 12 Championship.

Laura Thomas put on a sensational sidesaddle display riding 'Time Gallery' in the Show Hunter Hack 15 and not exceeding 16hh class. 'Time Gallery' was declared VAS Ltd Champion Show Hunter Hack.

It is difficult to imagine that just a short time ago Stephanie Barrington rode a Shetland. She would need roller skates on her feet now!. Stephanie was Champion VASL Rider 14 and Under 16 Years and went on to be declared Supreme Champion Rider Under 16 Years.

Bree Cox and 'Baron' from the Little River Pony Club were busy all day on the first day of the Summer Royal. (it is wise to have the Pony Club competitions on the first and not as sometimes happens, the last day). Here they make a charming picture in the Pony Club Handler Under 9 class.

A well performd Laura Shaw from the Emu Creek Pony Club won the Pony Club Handler Under 9 class with the co operation of 'Fairlight Acres Matthew'..

Jessica Sharp and 'Lemon Tart' representing the Colac Pony Club took second place in the Pony Club Handler 9 and under 12 Years class.

Courtney Shears from the Longford Pony Club claimed the Pony Club Smartest On Parade Championship.

The Pony Club entries were well up this year with the day a blur of colour.

No one was the least bit surprised when Pam Ahern claimed the Over 40 (just) VASL Rider Championship. The first day of the 'Summer Royal' incorporated the Pony Club Events with day one of the now two-day VASL Championships. The Show Hunters and Riding were judged on Saturday with the Newcomers and Open Show Horses on Sunday.

Janet Mansley's 'Glynyarra Park Coquette' ridden by Juliette Haddow took out the VASL Small Show Hunter Reserve CHampionship.

Stephanie Day from the Heywood Pony Club won the Pony Club Rider 14 and under 16 years class.
