Vic Dressage Championships

The well performed, imported stallion. Flowervale Boginov ridden by Danny Flood competed in the Pony Elementary. However, a fear of the galloping polo ponies behind the bushes resulted in them finishing out of the places. Each year the pony dressage classes improve in both numbers and performance and at this event all pony divisions were well supported.

It was unfortunate time tabling that the popular Inter 1 Freestyle started at 8.30 am this morning. However, for the few that were there to watch it, they were not disappointed. Julia Battams and the charismatic stallion, Camelot's Clint Eastwood produced an entertaining freestyle to Christmas music for second place with a score of 65%.

Heath Ryan (minus the Santa suit from last night) rode Greenoaks Weltmann to win the Brumby Boot Company Inter I Freestyle with a score of 66%.

Nicole Vantatta rode Ashleigh Royale by Royal Diamond in the Swish Horse Elementary 3B.

Georgina Cattermole rode the imported stallion Bellaire Cannavaro by Contendro to win the Swish Horse Elementary Championship.

Ian Balfour rode Vakai by the succesful showjumper, Coppabella Visage to fifth place in the Piaffe Equestrian Supplies Young Horse 4 year old class.

Dr. Kerry Mack rode her homebred Mayfield Miracle by Rotspon to third place in the Swish Horse Elementary 3B. Mayfield Stud had a good weekend with a number of successful youngsters.

Simone Bloomfield and Isle of Rolex by Isle of Aspen finished tenth in the Piaffe Equestrian Supplies Young Horse 4 year old class.

Katrina Bolmat rode Hollands Bend Weltlich by the famous Weltmeyer to finish in twelfth place in the Piaffe Equestrian Supplies Young Horse 4 year old. The conditions for the young horse at this event were not good and a number of youngsters produced below par performances.

Karen Lever, better know for her scoring expertise in Sydney, rode Colonials Pure Majic to produced an entertaining performance in the Para Equestrian Freestyle. It seemed that the first integrated dressage event held in Australia was a huge success, the Para riders seemed to really enjoy mixing with our elite dressage competitors and for the able bodied competitors, saddling up next to someone who is putting on their artificial legs, really puts the whole event into perspective.

Debbie Warne rode Sunvalley Donnerquest by Donnerheist to eight place in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.

Jeremy Janjic rode the Friesian Stallion Jacarna TK to eight place in the Swish Horse Elementary Championship.

Krysten Lituri and Centura Donnerquest by Donnerheist competed in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.

With the help of medical science and a surrogate mother, Betty Blue, ridden by Judy Smith today became a mother to a healthy filly and also took seventh place in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.

Roger Fitzhardinge came to Victoria with his well performed Weltsohn hoping to continue the good form they had at the recent Nationals. However, a slight bout of colic on the first day finished any hope of competing at this event. Roger did keep busy helping his successful students and taking photos.

Warwick McLean rode the good looking Sandro Hit stallion, Alessandro to fourth place in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.

Popular full time trainer, Charlotte Pedersen rode Come To Me in the Saddleworld Grand Prix Special.

Kylie Burton went into the three horse final of the Aachen Challenge in third place. However, riding her talented Flowervale Ferraza she knew the Olympic Ferro mare takes some time to get to know. Each rider rode the Prix St George test on their own horse, then had ten minutes to aquatint themselves with the next rider's horse before riding the test again. After the three riders had completed all the tests, Kylie was declared the Best Rider. with Ferraza third in the Best Horse section.

Hamag Equestrian Aachen Challenge finalist, Ashley Day and C.P. Perolus finished in third place for the Best Rider and Perolus finished in second place for Best Horse.

After a very successful weekend, Claie Porz had to settle for second place in the Best Rider division of the Hamag Aachen Challenge. However her delightful horse, Candi Ka was declared Best Horse.

Gina Montgomery rode her imported N.V. Wallmeyer by Weltmeyer to second place in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.

Mary Hanna has not had the best of luck recently. With her talented Grand Prix horse Tango V out of action for a considerable time, Mary concentrated on her two younger horses. After winning the Medium Championship yesterday, Shiraz Black also won the Advance Championship today. However, in this photo Mary is riding her newly imported gelding, Umbro by Jazz that took third place in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced 5B.

Emily McLean rode Serenity Lane Arena by Capone to sixth place in the EV Dressage Clubs Young Horse Five year old class.

Valintino by Walton and ridden by Ashleigh Howard demonstrated some good movement in the EV Dressage Clubs Young Horse Five year old class, but his submission let him down today.

Sharon McKimmie rode her Friesian Stallion Shepherds Hill Moses in the EV Dressage Clubs Young Horse Five year old class.

Judy Peel rode Evanfall Capulet by Regazzoni to twelth place in the Swish Horse Elementary Championship.

Daniel Powers and G.V. Ryans Rave by Regardez Moi took second place in the EV Dressage Clubs Young Horse Five year old class.

Vanessa Griffiths rode Belcam Cartiere by Capone to fifth place in the EV Dressage Clubs Young Horse Five year old class.

Anky Australia owner, Stephanie Dijkstrra took time out from selling her fashionable range of Anky Clothing and boots to ride, Red Bull by Regazzoni in the Swish Horse Elementary.

Marianne Crawford rode Don Angelo by Donnerheist in the Overflow Equestrian Advanced Championship.
