Tilley Fair did the riding and Nicole Riemer led the Riemer Girl's super, Radford Lodge Candy Cane' (Rising Soverign of Beckworth/Owendale Day Dream) to take out the Star Bus Shuttle National Leading Rein Championshipg for Victoria.

Representing South Australia, Jessica Marnie rode the Argyl Stud's, 'Argyl Royal Flush' (Kolbeach Royalty/Kolbeach Storybook) to take out the Debanlay Stud national Medium Pony Championship.

South Australian combination, Breanna Foster and, 'Royal Oak Little Lords' (Rosedale Lords/Mayfield Minuet) took out the Papermate National Small Pony Championship.

Poppi and Dale Plumb share a joke as they parade out as Runner Up National Leading Rein Champions with, 'Bamborough Special Girl'.

There are show ponies and then there is 'Silkwood Angel Wings' (Silkwood Babbling Brook/Silkwood Seventh Heaven), certainly the showiest pony of our generation. The former three time winner of the National Small Pony title, Angel, ridden by just eight year old Claudia McCormick, almost made it a fourth title, but today Claudia was happy to take out the Runner Up Papermate National Small Pony title.

Mikayla Vankampen,pictured aboard, 'Keira Park Take A Bow' represented Queensland in the Physiohealth National Junior Rider 12 Years and Under Championship.

Brynn Clarke made it a NSW double by taking the Runner Up award in the Physiohealth National Rider 12 Years and Under Championship.

NSW representative, Amanda Callaghan rode her beautiful, 'Calvin Park Tiny Dancer' (Royalwood Boy Soprano/Robbani Ribbons of Velvet) to claim the Riding Pony Stud Book Society of Australia National Large Pony Championship.

New Zealand rider, Tyler Porteous did not have the best start to the day with her , 'Willowcroft Distinction' ,however they produced a good workout together during the judging of the National Large Pony Championship.

Chelsea Senter from Queensland rode her charming, 'Bordershow Vanilla Ice' in the Mal Byrne Saddlery National Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Grace Bray from WA rode Tasma Harper's, delightful, 'Del Lee Oscar' in what proved to be an entertaining competition for the Mal Byrne Saddlery National Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Seven year old Bianca Evans and 'Armani Park Peter Pan' almost stole the show on the first day of the annual Show Horse "knees up" at Werribee Park. They are pictured putting on a splendid show during the Mal Byrne Saddlery Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.Earlier in the day in the Leading Rein Championship, Bianca was awarded the Molly Lord Memorial Best Presented award presented by the Mardling and Murray families.

Georgia Davey rode Isabelle Barker's 2011 National Small Show Hunter Pony, Rivington Royal Hiccup' (Nattai Vychan/Rivington Hebe) to claim the Runner up Small Show Hunter Pony award this year with her characteristic polished workout.

Riding for Victoria, Tiffany Greenhill from the Mornington Peninsula claimed back to back National Large Show Hunter Pony Championships riding her super working, 'Glyndebourne Monopoly' (Kirreway For All Occasions/Glyndebourne Mietta). They were awarded the Farleight Perpetual Trophy presented by Deborah Bell.

Rosie Metherall's 'Burnewang Cup of Diamonds' (Pendley Gold Cup/Burnewang Blackrose) is a beautiful type of Show Hunter Pony. Zoe Murray rode her beautifully to claim the Mal Byrne Saddlery National Small Show Hunter Pony Championship.

Victorian rider, Taylah Arnott rode her well performed, Farleigh Leander to take out the Douglas Family QLD Intermediate Rider Runner Up title.

Annabel Mulready from NSW rode her 'DP Mayfair' beautifully to take out the Douglas Family QLD National Champion Intermediate Rider (16-17 years) title.

Well known and successful Queensland showing rider, Melissa Sambrooks is pictured aboard her 'Euston Dancester' during the Silkwood National Small Galloway Championship.

The Silkwood Stud Small Galloway Championship was the last on the card for the first day of the 2012 National Show Horse and Rider Championships, and it was worth waiting for. Katrina Kearns rode Graham Elliott's beautiful gelding, 'Holly's Galaxy' (Fernleigh Fine Print/Kolbeach Holly's Star) to be the judges and the crowd's choice for National Champion Small Galloway.

With some Rod Stewart to help him along, Mark Kenzig as always produced a polished performance riding his, 'Willowcroft Coco Chanel' (Oakvale Serenade/Willowcroft Miss Money Penny) to take the Silkwood Stud National Small Galloway Runner Up award.
