Barastoc Horse of the Year Show - HD Coverage

Monique Pankhurst was successful early on a very busy day of HRCAV competition. Representing the Rich River Equestrian Club, Monique rode her 'Helden Park Tribute' to win the level 4 Smartest On Parade 14.2-15.3HH.

Gary Richardson did the leading and Charlotte Richardson the riding aboard the Vancouver Park Stud and Cherie Mills' well performed, 'Murrami Melanie Star' to take out the Welsh Leading Rein Of the Year.

Anne Jellif is pictured with the Boonderoo Partners' typey, 'Boonderoo Impulse'. The mare out of Boonderoo Holly by Coolum Epic was declared Champion Mare and Supreme Led Australian Stock Horse of the Year.

Zoe Murray, surely one of the busiest riders on the showground, rode Chloe Vince's 'Rosedale Concerto', a four year old Riding Pony by Rosedale Tempting to make Top Ten in the Barastoc Small Pony of the Year.

Brylee Thomson is pictured with her 'Bremala My Fair Lady', a four year old Riding Pony by Myscal Encore that made the Barastoc Top Ten final ride off.

Holly Lewis rode the McMahon and McCormick Families' beautiful and former Barastoc multiple Champion, and 2011 International Challenge Champion, 'Silkwood Angle Wings' to take the Barastoc Small Pony Runner Up award.

Three year old Tahlia Robinson was having great fun in the Miniature Pony ring with her delightful, 'Glen Ellen Fabian'. The gelding, also three years old won his gelding class.

Emma Barlow was at the end of the lead with daughter, Charlotte Millard in the saddle to claim the Conceptions Garlands Leading Rein Pony of the Year for Riders 3, 4 and 5 Years old with the clarming, 'Kenda Park Chardonnay'..

Gabrielle Thomson rode Jodi Allen's well performed, 'Manorvale Diamond Diva' to make the Barastoc Large Pony Top Ten.

Chelsea Clark rode her , 'Robbanie Snaphappy' to make the Barastoc Large Pony final Top Ten.

Successful showing breeder and exhibitor, Caroline Parker rode her 'Cheraton Work of Art' to make the Barastoc Large Pony Final Top Ten.

Still great after all these years. Maddalyn Waugh rode her very well performed 15 year old, 'Falconhurst First Class' to make the Barastoc Large Pony Top Ten. First Class has won just about everything a pony can in both Australia and New Zealand.

Lynda Hayes as always put on a beautiful show with her own and Carmen Nowak's successful, 'Kolbeach Aster' (Fernleigh Fine Print/Gemstone) to take out the Barastoc Large Pony of the Year. Aster was also declared International Challenge Large Pony on Saturday night.

Jade Gilbert rode Emma Richardson's lovely, 'Royalwood Song of Spring' to claim the Barastoc Large Pony Runner Up award.

Penny Smith rode her beautiful thoroughbred, 'Swell' by Admiralty to take out Owner Rider Horse of the Year title.

Eighteen year old, Ashlyn Sorraghen rode her 'Tapu Cadenza' to claim the Barastoc Owner Rider Galloway of the Year award.

To rousing applause, Katie Ajani rode the Woolcock and Munday nomination, 'Pilinta Park Sterling' to take out the Barastoc Shetland of the Year award.

Sheridan Hammet rode her , 'Ascot Samsara' to take out the Barastoc Owner Rider Small Pony Of the Year award.

Jason James rode Sally Shaw's beautiful, 'Royalwood Concerto' by Royalwood Boy Soprano' to claim the Edinburgh Horse Rugs Supreme Led Exhibit title on Saturday night and the Barastoc Galloway of the Year on Sunday afternoon.

Darryl Hayes rode Ashley Reid's very well performed, 'Wesswood Royal Cast' to make the Barastoc Galloway of the Year Top Ten.

With many of her Mt Gambier neighbours already heading for the border, Louise Hanssen rode her eight year old Riding Pony by Sufton Romany Lore, 'Sanlirra Folklore' to take out the Barastoc Runner Up Galloway of the Year award.

Simone Padoin rode her impressive Part Welsh, 'Cheraton Cool Waters' by Cheraton True Blue out of Cheraton Wildflower to take out the Ridden Welsh Show Hunter Championship.

Successful showing competitor, Briony Payne has been having a super successful time with her Riding Pony/Thoroughbred, 'Nadal' On Saturday night they were named Runner Up International Challenge Horse and on Sunday made Top Ten in the Barastoc Horse of the Year.

Taylah Arnott has the horse we would all love in 'Farleigh Leander'. The eye-catching grey has carried many to riding class success as well as success in the hack ring as evidenced by his Barastoc Horse of the Year Top Ten performance.

Kim Joblin rode her 'SLM Skyte' to make Top Ten in the Barastoc Horse of the Year.

Rachel Keskinen and 'Request' talked the talk and walked the walk to ride away with the Barastoc Horse of the Year title. On Saturday night they claimed the International Challenge Championship and on Sunday afternoon they produced the winning performance. UK judge, Katie Jerran commented, "the horse was so soft and they put on an outstanding show. He would be a successful horse in the UK". Tania Hay from Tasmania was gunning for a fourth consecutive Barastoc Horse of the Year tile with her beautiful mare, 'Consequence'. And she almost got it, but this year had to be content with the Runner up award.

Simon Mcmahon rode Kim McMahon's, 'Candamine Revival' to win the class for Working Australian Stock Horse Stallion.

Fiona Beer from Deneliquin had a super Barastoc. The regular visitor claimed both the Champion Hack and Champion Working Stock Horse of the Year awards with her 'Parra Design', to have a no contest claim on the Supreme Ridden Australian Stock Horse Exhibit. Parra Design was also Reserve Champion led Mare.
