Local Boy Andrew Stone from Michelago won the Junior Gentleman Rider class (17-21) and went on to take out the Champion Gentleman Rider Award.
What a show!. If Supreme Led and Champion Ridden ANSA and Supreme Led Thoroughbred was not enough, Jo Uppington and Robyn Unsworth's beautiful 'Festival', ridden by Ryanne McIvor, won the Thoroughbred Mare Hack and the Lady's Hack class.
Many have come and gone over the years, but Vicky Lawrie remains at the top of the game. She rode the Lyndale Stables and Jaclyn Jacobson nominated 'DP Idol' to win the only class they started in, the Over 16.2hh Hack. From there, a beautiful horse, beautifully presented, good work and a ton of experience earned them the 2006 Royal Canberra Hack Championship.
Leanne Donoghue made and elegant and charming picture as she rode Jill Best's 'Twain' to win the Sidesaddle Hack class.
Bill Peadon from Bibbenluke on NSW rode his and wife Julie's 'Bibbenluke Salena' to victoy in the Working ASH Mare class. They went on to take out the Working Championship and be declared Supreme Champion Australian Stock Horse Under Saddle award.
Brittney McGlone rode Brent McGlone and Kelly Fletcher's 'Secretdowns Kelly's Secret' to win three Ridden ASH classes and go on to take out the Ridden Australian Stock Horse Championship.
Kirsten Martin rode the Martin Family's 'Boon Hill Oliver' to win the Working ASH Gelding class and take out the Reserve Working Australian Stock Horse Championship.
'Bumbora Paddington' was a particularly typey exhibit at the Royal Canberra Show today. Competing in the Guinea Pig ring Paddington was declared Rex Best of Breed and Best Coarse Coat Group, Exhibited by Melanie Barnes, he does seem to have a sense of his own importance, although perhaps a little startled by all the success.
Gary and Jenna Richardson start them young Young Charlotte at just two has quite a few more years in the Under 7 Years Leading Rein Rider class. Charlotte did appear to be enjoying every minute.

Nine -year-old Lily McEvoy from Strathmore in Victoria had a super show, which included her first Royal Show Rider Championship. Lily was declared Champion Junior Girl Rider.
Deanne Benton won the Open Hack 16-16.2hh class with her 'Sir Trafalgar'.
Rebecca Farrow from Victoria won the Lady Rider 21-40 class and went on to be declared Champion Lady Rider with some help from her successful hack, Stage Idol.

Thomas on tour! Thomas Madigan from Mackay in North Queensland has been sighted recently in Victoria and now at Canberra. Thomas won the Boy Rider 9 -11 and was declared Champion Boy Rider Under 13 Years.

Joanne Prestwidge made it a second Canberra Large Pony Championships with her lovely home bred, 'Royalwood Merry Music'. Merry Music by Oakvale Serenade out of Syon Petite won the Open 13-13.2hh class. Earlier in the show Merry Music claimed back to back Ridden Riding Pony Show Pony Championships.
Prue Harvey, Darren Telford and Greg Gerry's lovely import, 'Ainthorpe Splendid Morning' won the Open Pony 12.2-13hh class and ridden by Trinette Crawford, was declared Reserve CHampion Large Pony.
