Show Secretary extraordinaire, Alex Wright gave a demonstration of just how it should be done. Alex rode Georgina Cattermole's 'Bellaire Cannavaro' to win the first round of the Four Year Old Young Showjumper competition with a score of 8.5. The stallion by Contendro 1 was second in the Riding Horse class and after two rounds is sixth in the Young Dressage Horse class.

Atlanta Olympic team member, Russell Johnstone rode Meldarra P/L and Lou Dawson's TEP Clover Flush gelding, 'Gold Park Gold Flush' to take second place in the first round of the Four Year Old Young Showjumper class with 8.2.

Mark Brennan rode his scopey 'Snowy River Offsider' (Sterling Liberty/Norma) for eight place after round one of the Four Year Old Young Showjumper class with 7.4.

Well-known and successful Young Rider, Emma Smith rode her Fame Of Wondaree out of a Jubilee Bay mare, 'Elsie Jane' to be in sixth place with 7.7 after the first round of the Four Year Old Young Showjumper class.

Tim Clarke rode Mardi Grave's impressive Contango II stallion, 'Belcam Catalyst' to second place after round one of the Five Year Old Young Showjumper class.

Anthony Kelly rode Janette Strazdins 'Cerando' (Cessano II Feiderspiel) for provisional fifth place after the first round of the Five Year Old Young Showjumper class with 7.2.

Brett Hickey rode AEA Burong's talented 'AEA Orox' (Orame/AEA Xena) to take first place after round one of the Five Year Old Young Showjumper class with 8.4.

Trevor March and his 'Holmwood Riverqueen' (Kendalee Riverdisc/Calcarra Gorgissima) finished the first round of the Five Year Old Young Showjumper class in sixth place with 7.1.

Melissa Froesch had a very busy day riding a number of home bred horses, mostly by former Young Showjumping Horse winner, Warlord II. Melissa is leading the class with 'Glenara Bollinger' out of her super Miss Cognac with a score of 8.

Well-known eventer, Ingrid Kimpton took second place in the Six Year old Young Showjumper class after round one riding her 'PS Monet' (Matisse/Pam's Star) with a score of 7.9.

Jamie Kermond rode Des Russell's super imported stallion 'Valhalla' by Quattro B out of a Clinton mare. Apart from a green fence at the first, they jumped a lovely round to be in third place after round one with 7.7

Adam Johnston had a busy day with horses in all three sections. He is pictured aboard 'Woodleigh Wolverine' "Woodleigh Don Juan/Ego Aninya) in the first round of the Six Year Old class.

After the first round of the Five Year Old Dressage Horse class, Heath Ryan is lying in second place with Susie Duddy's 'DP Weltmieser' (Weltmeyer/Catherston Debutante) on 8.16. On Friday night Heath rode Dr Margaret Evans' odds on favourite, 'Regardez Moi' to win the Grand Prix with 65%.

Gitte Donvig rode Mary and Rob Hanna's imported Sandro Hit Oldenberger stallion, 'Shiraz Black' out of a Donnerhall mare, to be in the lead after the first round of the PSI Young Five Year Old class with 8.20. .

Jodie Dunstan rode Jennah Richardson's eye-catching 'Vancouver Park Cardeau' (Carbine/Shawlaw Neotone) in the first round of the PSI Five Year Old Young Dressage Horse class.

John Thompson, successful in the hack ring had turned his hand with equal success to the dressage arena. John rode his 'Jayjay Grand Marnier' (Grand Kavalier/Diamond Brandy) in the PSI Five Year Old Young Dressage Horse class.

Wagga solicitor, John Potter was the talk of the competition with his super, imported (only just) 'Summersby' (Sandro Hit out of a Davignon mare). They moved from up from second place to first after round two of the Four Year Old class with 8.58..

Gary Lung also made a great impression with his 'GB Winchester' (Weltmeyer/GB Saffron). They finished the Four Year Old class in equal second place with 7.98.
