EA Show Horse & Rider National Championships

Well known and successful South Australian showing identity, Margot Haynes rode Vicky and Chris Lawrie's beautiful, 'Kolbeach Amazing' to take out the Equestrian Australia National Large Pony Runner Up award. The four year old pony in its first season of showing is by Fernleigh Fine Print out of the imported mare, Ainthorpe Grace Darling. Margot chose (actually we think it was Chris) a wonderful and attention grabbing version of Amazing Grace that involved changes in pitch that built up to a crescendo and suited the pony's tempo changes.

Bree Petrie has had a miserable year, but it has come good at the end. Most importantly Bree's daughter, Amelia, who had a serious accident earlier in the year is at the Nationals and enjoying the show. And to add to that Bree rode the beautiful 'Rosedale Simone' (Kolbeach Sensational/Colbeach Simone), bred by and leased from Christine Comley, to take out the Equestrian Australia National Large Pony Championship.

Last year Bianca Barnes rode her 'Belcam Cadel' to take out the National Senior rider title and today well known and successful Victorian showing rider, Jacqui Librio too the ride on the impressive and good moving Capone gelding to claim the Lotus Institute National Senior Rider Championship.

Stephanie Barrington produced a beautiful workout riding her Garryowen partner, 'LA' in both the Lotus Institute Senior Rider Championship and the RT Edgar Large Hack Championship. Alas it was not their day.

Angela Rodham from the Hunter Valley in NSW is a beautiful rider both side saddle and astride. Angela took out the Senior Rider Runner Up award.

Rose McEvoy representing Victoria is pictured with the McEvoy Family's well performed Galloway, 'Gordon Park Masquerade'. Rose has a knack for choosing good music and rode to an understated Man From Snowy River/Waltzing Matilda theme to take the Lotus Institute Small Galloway Championship Runner Up award.

Terrie Lamey representing NSW is pictured during the Lotus Institute National Small Galloway Championship riding her beautiful and very well performed, 'AP Wizardry'.

The Western Australian cheer squad erupted when Holly Broadwith's 'Gordon Park Supanova ' was called forward as the Lotus Institute National Small Galloway Champion. And history was created, as for the first time in any Championship, full siblings were declared Champion and Runner Up. Both Galloways were bred by Mavis Dilley at her Gordon Park Stud in WA and are by Oakvale Serenade out of Sophie's World.

Darryl Hayes rode the Shaw Family's beautiful 'Royalwood Concerto' by Royalwood Boy Soprano to take out the Physiohealth National Large Galloway Championship. Both Darryl and Concerto were lucky to be at the show , let alone winning , as they were both involved in the truck accident just before Adelaide Royal in September.

Tania Hay from Tasmania took out the EPRO Runner Up National Small Hack award with her beautiful and multi Victorian Barastoc winner, 'Consequence'.

Early in the day Annabel Mulready representing NSW, a former National Champion Junior Rider rode her, 'DP Mayfair' to claim the Runner Up AVO National Intermediate Rider award and this evening Annabel stepped up a gear to claim the EPRO National Small hack award. The lovely horse produced, as the name attests by Dale Plumb, also received the Pauline van Heythuysen Memorial Perpetual Trophy awarded to the Small Hack winner.

Laura Widdowson from Queensland is pictured with her 2010 National Champion Small Hack, 'SLM High Profile' during the EPRO 2011 National Small Hack Championship.

Dale Plumb started favourite with his all conquering hack of 2011, 'DP Amazing' and he did not disappoint his many admirers. In a grand evening for Dale Plumb produced horses, Amazing was declared RT Edgar National Champion Large Hack.

South Australian representative, Bettina Stanton is pictured riding her positively glowing Fuji Kiseki gelding, 'Vienna Night Divine' during the RT Edgae National Large Hack Championship. They are pictured trotting past judge, Gary Weir who placed the horse first,

To the tune of "I'm A Primadonna" Courtney Smith from NSW produced a lovely workout with her well performed, El Moxie mare, 'CS Primadonna', to take out the RT Edgar Large Hack Runner up award.

Adam Oliver came close to writing the perfect end to the first chapter in the life of his beautiful mare, 'High Fashion'. Horse Deals readers will have followed the mare's progress from racetrack to show ring, and from there to the National titles representing Queensland in the RT Edgar Large Hack Championship. The mare worked well and they both won the turnout prize, or would have if there had been one. Adam was brave with his choice of music which was both dramatic and had different music for trot and canter; one of just a few that took the opportunity to make more of the musical element involved. The Nationals were the end of the beginning for this talented pair who will be sure to go on to great achievement.

Victorian rider, Sarah McMaster is pictured riding her 'Moneceito Park Royal Flush' by Rothwell Toy Town in the Physioheath Junior Rider Championship. later in the evening, the good working Galloway, ridden by Dale Plumb was declared Runner Up Physiohealth National Large Galloway.

Talented young rider, Sally Shaw now representing Victoria rode 'Wesswood Royal Caste' to claim the Physiohealth Junior Rider Championship Runner Up Award.

McEvoy girls, whether the NSW or the Victorian family all ride well. Billie McEvoy representing NSW rode beautifully during the Physiohealth Junior Rider Championship.

Kira-Lee Newman from Queensland has established a wonderful reputation as a rider and she demonstrated just why today by taking out the Physiohealth Junior Rider Championship.

Riley Kent from Queensland was certainly not outworked by the girls and produced a super display during the Physiohealth Junior Rider Championship.

Rose McEvoy of the Victorian McEvoys produced the workout of the show including two perfect flying changes riding 'Grazier' to the beautiful love theme from the film, Love Actually to claim the AVO Intermediate Rider Championship and back to back National Intermediate Rider titles.

Always a lovely rider, Tess Hughes representing South Australia is pictured aboard her 'La Chicago' during the AVO Intermediate Rider Championship.

Successful young Queensland rider, Jordan Skyring rides beautifully and so far at the Nationals this year, of only a few riders to include different music in her workout. Jordan rode in the AVO Intermediate Rider Championship to a medley of three songs from A Sound of Music.

Grace Simmons from the Northern Territory is pictured during the AVO Intermediate Rider Championship riding 'Cliche' to the appropriate tune of "You Make me Feel Like Dancing".

Representing New Zealand and adding an international Trans Tasman flavour to proceedings, Taylor Yarndley rode Briony Payne's 'Cobra' to produce a good workout in the AVO Intermediate Rider Championship.

The McMahon and McCormick Families' sensational, 'Silkwood Angel Wings' by Silkwood Babbling Brook out of Silkwood Seventh Heaven is a born show pony with a heightened sense of show time. Already a three time National Small Pony Champion, Angel Wings, ridden by Holly Lewis again produced a smiling and foot perfect performance to take out the Silkwood Stud Small Pony Championship Runner Up award.

Courtney Vale from Western Australia is pictured producing a good workout aboard 'Yartarla Park Tiger Lily' during the Silkwood Stud National Small Pony Championships.

Caitlin Fricker created history at the Nationals today by producing her own musical accompaniment with a little help from Leonard Cohen. Caitlin rode the Corumbene Stud's 'Falconhurst Reflection' in the Silkwood Stud Small Pony Championship to Hallelujah sung by Caitlin and her sister Victoria. An impressive effort if there ever was one!

Stephanie Jamieson from NSW was delighted all the way through her workout riding her beautiful and good working, 'Kamilaroi Kismet'. Her confidence was not misplaced, as the pony by Kirreway Windsong out of Rathowen Patch O Blue' was declared Silkwood Stud National Small Pony Champion.
