Elysian Fields Showjumping

Chris Chugg with the Australian Sporthorse Breeders imported stallion, 'Vivant' in typical style over this oxer during the final Gold Series Qualifier. After a rest day tomorrow the Gold and Silver qualifiers will compete in the final on the hallowed lower field at Elysian and of course 'Vivant' will be one of them.

Very well-performed New Zealand rider, Sue Thompson is seen her with her successful 'Ayr Hill The Rajah'.

Laurie Lever has been labouring with a damaged foot which has hampered his riding of late. However, today he jumped a good four penality round in the third Gold Series Qualifier. Note the intelligent and attentive look on 'Ashleigh Drossel Dan's' face and the determined look on Lauries.

Although this shot was taken late it is a great one of the rider, Katie McVean from New Zealand. Katie is the daughter of successful Australian international rider, Jeff Mc Vean. Katie is already preparing herself for the next fence. Her eyes are up and her balance beginning to move slightly back, 'Dunstan Hairy McClairy' has one ear on Katie and the other on the next fence as they jump through the treble combination during the final Gold Series qualifier.

New Zealand rider, Oliver Edgecombe was the first of just two clear rounds in the third Gold Series qualifier. Oliver rode 'Vancouver' by Voltaire II to take second place in the qualifier. Paul Athanasoff and Wirregulla Nicklaus won the class with two great clear rounds.

Beaudesert (just down the road) resident, Merrich Ubank with his Sydney Royal Champion Jumper and winner of the first Silver Series qualifer, 'Dover Street' competing in the final qualifier.

Vicki Roycroft with her usual look of determination, rode 'Noblewood Park Blatini', an imported mare by Burggraaf, to take second place in the final Silver Series qualifier.

Popular Queensland rider, Billy Raymont, makes a stylish picture with 'KG Ampolla' during the third qualifier of the Silver series.

Jenny Sheppard is well back in the action, after an injury lay off (Jenny's) with her super imported mare, 'Licara R'. Here they demonstrate the form that saw them take third place in the final Silver Series qualifier. This combination won the Bronze Series last year and would be at short odds to take out the Silver this year.

Amy is in a good balanced position to quickly follow her eyes. It worked as Amy and the Irish import, 'Transatlantic' won the final qualifier.

Michelle Barrera, back in the saddle after study commitments with the Australian Sporthorse Breeders lovely imported Indorado mare, 'Alondra'.

All the way from Western Australia, David Dobson with the Indoctro gelding, 'Argyle Stables Indigo' jumping in the final Silver Series qualifier.

Paula Hamood with her wonderful 'Bucks Bunny' as always jumping a lovely fence, during the final Silver Series Qualifier.

It was hot work in the Queensland sunshine for Matthey Whalley and 'Royal Signature' from Morayfield as they make their way around the final Silver Series qualifier.
