NSW Country Showjumping Championships

The Perisher Station Resort was home for a week for a gypsy caravan of showjumpers. The Resort was a very welcoming host venue for the Snowy Mountain Showjumping Festival and the 700 plus horses that came along. It was even possible to have your horse at your motel room door.

Well known rider, trainer and Pied Piper, Martin Gostelow, always with a group of young students in tow is pictured aboard his newly purchased stallion, 'Romany Ego Z' that was formerly owned and ridden by Gavin and Kane Chester. Craig Matthews and the eye catching, 'Fifa La Viva' took fifth place in the Shooting Stars Championships.

Emily Longhurst jumped a super double clear aboard her talented, 'Rhapsody In Blue' by Mr Blue to claim second place in the Shooting Stars Championship.

Successful jumping rider, Georgie Lucas stepped her talented, 'Dusky Farm Conqueror' by Conquistador up to start in the Shooting Stars Championship (Futurity) and won the class.

Harry Owens took third place in the Shooting Stars Championship jumping a double clear riding his talented, 'Valondra' (Vivant /Alondra).

Rhys Stones claimed the Mini Prix with an impressive performance riding his super, 'Oaks Altador' (Conquistador/Oaks Altes). Rhys took out the Best Performed Young Horse Award at Adelaide Show last year and it looks as if the talented mare has a seriously bright future.

Ernest Connell from the UK is pictured aboard his , 'Corambo' during the Mini Prix final. Ernest had a number of horses at Jindabyne and was kept busy all show.

Krissy Harris makes a spectacular jump aboard her imported mare, 'Waverlee III' on her way to taking second place in the Mini Prix on the final day of the Snowy Mountains Showjumping Festival.

Kelly Slater had a fantastic final Young Rider year, finishing at the top of the Tekna Leaderboard last year. Kelly has started her first senior year well with a victory already in the 1.30m class at Jindabyne. Today she rode her ex Ally Lamb mare, 'Silverton' to take third place in the Mini Prix.

Keira Byrnes made a great impression in the showjumping arena with her super Four Star eventer and ex racehorse, 'Fox Hill' that is pictured during the final round of the NSW Country Showjumping Championships.

It is not often one sees a quadruple on a jumping course these days, but Snowy Mountains Showjumping Festival Ring 1 course designer, Leeson Sirret put the challenging combination in the final round of the NSW Country Showjumping Championships. Grant Hughes and 'Yakity Yak' are pictured coming out over D. The combination consisted of vertical, oxer, vertical, oxer set one stride apart.

Talented young rider, Lane Clarke from the Bega area rode the ball of jumping energy, 'GH Tiger Lily' to take eight place in the final round of the NSW Country Showjumping Championships. Lane's performance was good enough to see him finish the Triple Crown points score, (Canberra Cup, Bega Cup and NSW Country Championships) in third place.

Izabella Stone, now working with Greg and Tom McDermott makes a beautiful jump aboard her outstanding Gymnastik Star gelding, 'Kinnordy Giuilani' that took sixth place in the NSW Country Showjumping Championships.

Clint Beresford has had a great show. He is pictured riding his , 'Emmaville Jitterbug' that won Round 2 of the NSW Country Championships yesterday and took third place today. Clint and Jitterbug were declared 2014 NSW Country Showjumping Champions and also claimed the Triple Crown of showjumping.

Twenty year old Tom McDermott put in a vintage performance riding Carole Mason's, imported gelding, twenty year old 'CP Rolex' to win the final round of the NSW Country Showjumping Championships. Tom claimed the NSW Country Runner Up title riding his , 'Statford Delight' that took fourth place in the final round.

Jess Stalling and her 'Diamond B Vermont' contemplate the journey in front of them down the quadruple combination. Jess and Vermont jumped a super double clear to take second place in the NSW Country Championships. Jess and her talented Vivant gelding were also second in the Bega Cup and placed at Canberra and took out the Triple Crown Runner Up award.

Tess Ladner from Wagga was the Ring 3 High point winner and the lucky recipient of a Hawksbury River Saddle Company saddle as prize for her efforts. Hawksbury River (Heath and Krissy Harris) generously donated three saddles as prizes over the Show. Tess is pictured with Hawksbury River principle and legendary horseman, Heath Harris.
