Ranch Horse Remuda Show

Amy Gear rode Alenas Smart Kat in the Youth Ranch Riding class. Each class has a number of divisions; Youth, Novice Amateur, Freshmans (beginner), Amateur, Open Junior Horse and Open Senior horse.

Sally Wilson rode Luna in the Amateur Ranch Riding. This class consists of a reining type pattern including some poles to walk over to finish.

Jane Forke rode Wilga Park Astroboy in the strong class for Amateur Range Riding. As with most of the Ranch Horse events, the judge awards positive or negative marks from a 0 score for each of the movements within the pattern.

Jessica Soulsby completes a good Ranch Riding pattern aboard Attards Romance for third place in the Amateur class.

Bruno Robinson riding An Acre Named Sue won the Amateur Ranch Riding class.

Ian Collie rode Ozzy to sixth place in the Amateur Ranch Riding class.

Kevin Patrick rode Onya Shiney Nu Toy to take second place in the Amateur Ranch Riding.

Jackson Mitchell rode Docs Instant Playboy in the Amateur Ranch Riding class.

Roy Marchington rode Cuttalenas Little Rooster to win the Open Cow Horse Class. This class is the toughest event of the Ranch Horse classes. It can combine two or three phases, today two phases were judged, phase one a reining pattern followed by phase two where one cow is boxed up and then run on a pattern. So it is a bit like reining, cutting and campdrafting all in one. It is very popular with spectators.

Janelle Thomas rode Justa Promise to fourth place in the Open Junior Horse Reining. In Ranch Horse events you can ride any breed of horse, you just have to ride in a western type saddle without bling and wear western or stockman type clothing.

Danny Kopa rode Pround Lil Merdoc to third place in the Open Junior Horse Reining.

Kim Grosso rode DC Caddilac Jack to win the Open Senior Horse Ranch Reining.

Jessica Young rode Sashas Smokin Lena to third place in the Open Senior Horse Ranch Reining.

Paul Henschke rode WP Statutorial to sixth place in the Open Senior Horse Ranch Reining.

Mitch Dunnachie rode Whizzy to second place in the Open Senior Horse Ranch Reining.

Tommy Read and Lethal Lexie took second place in the Open Junior Cow Horse class.

Quentin Stapleton rode Smooth Serenade to second place in the Open Senior Cow Horse class.

A part of the Cow Horse class is to run the cow quickly along the fence and then turn it around. Aaron Scobie and Amaroo Unique Rock did a good job to win the Open Senior Cow Horse class.

Stephanie Lancefield rode Tronas Twinkle (Imp) to third place in the Open Senior Cow Horse class.

Bonnie Grosso rode SVQ Good Charlotte to fourth place in the Youth Ranch Riding class on day three at the Australian Ranch Horse Remuda Show. With many shows seeing declining attendance numbers this show sees the opposite. At the first Remuda show last year there were 50 horses and this year there are 104, competing in a number of classes over four days.
