2008 Royal Melbourne Summer Horse Show

All dressed up and somewhere to go! L-R Victoria and Caitlin Fricker are keen to get to the action at 8am this morning. The girls were on their way to the Riding Pony Leading Rein class. Victoria was third riding 'Wesleydale Love Affair, with Caitlin fourth aboard 'Imperial Pippa'.

No doubt about David Ross' eye for beauty. The Falconhurst Stud's 'Chelleason Wind Fortune' (Gai El Jullyen/Windsstar) won the Yearling Arabian Filly class and went on to take out the Rami Sash for Champion Arabian Filly.

Four year-old Delta Wardle rode her mother, Linley Arnold-Wardle's 'Merivale Park Toy Soldier' (Myscal Encore/Mornington Sweet Occasion) to win the Riding Pony Leading Rein class.

The Burren-Dah Stud and Future Farm nomination, 'Foxfire BHF' (Falcon BHF/Tevkah) arrived in Australia from the US last July, just in time for EI. The beautiful stallion was declared Supreme Champion Arabian.

Wade Bailey is on the move with Syrah Arabians' 'Eklipse' (Valor/Tarlea Ellabrandi) that claimed the Rami Sash for Colts and was declared Reserve Champion Arabian Stallion/Colt.

Rosemary Garoni's 'Moondyne Buccaneer' (Moondyne Bugle/Owendale Clementine) once again claimed the Champion Buckskin Stallion/Colt award and again went on to take out the Supreme Led Buckskin title.

Kathleen with the Mullan Family's Best Standardbred on Show, 'MF Night Flight' (Catch A Flight/Walton Lass).

The Habafield Pony Stud's 'Laburnam Park Piccadilly' (Ramblers Pick Another imp/Pahake Rouge) was declared Champion New Forest Pony.

Laura Shaw rode the Silkwood Stud's 'Silkwood Heaven's Chalice' (Pendley Gold Cup/Silkwood Heaven Can Wait) to claim the Champion Newcomer Riding Pony Award.

Melanie Maclachlan's 22 year-old, 'Brownmont Annadean' (Forestway Royal Ascot imp UK/Jarosite Bronzewing claimed her 10th Led Australian New Forest Pony Exhibit award.

The Kahean Stud's 'Glenormiston Ciaran' (Domo Cavallo Praize/ Oxenholm Tiffany) won the Connemara Gelding class and went on to be declared Champion Connemara Exhibit.

Bree Petrie had a great show with the Stewart Family's 'Mandalay Pure Silk' (Strinesdale Matador UK/Fursey Mostly Mink) to be declared Champion Ridden Show Pony and Supreme Led Australian Saddle Pony.

Val Perkins with her Supreme Led Standardbred Exhibit, the winning gelding, 'Happy Interest' (Red Coach Glory/MaoriTrump).

The Grandeur Stud exhibited the Champion Arabian Derivative Mare, 'Naaman Mietta' (Warrawee S'preem/Family Flyer).

Supreme Champion Mountain and Moreland Exhibit and Top Five in the Best of Show Championship, Scott McGregor's, Fyfedene (Imp) (Falcon Frost of Salichris/Salinadene).

Lynne Warburton and Darryl and Linda Hayes' nomination, 'Kolbeach Class' (Fernleigh Fine Print/Fleetcroft Royal Whisper) was declared Junior Champion Part Welsh Exhibit.

Ann Smiley's 'Lynlea Pantomime' (Silkwood Puss'n' Boots/Lynlea Theme) was declared Reserve Champion Senior Part Welsh Exhibit.

Peter Ronzio's stallion, 'Asperations of Sefton' (Kirreway Ambition/Great Expectations of Sefton) was declared Supreme Led Part Welsh Exhibit.

The magnificent Supreme Led Heavy Horse, the three year-old Shire mare, 'Donthan Srewardess' (Donthan Charlie/Donthan Myfanwy) is really flying during the judging of the Best of Show Championship. The mare was exhibited by P & M McKeon.

Samantha Mullan drove the Mullan Family's 'MF Wagonon' (Wagon Apollo/Pamela's Pet) to win the class for Standardbred In Racing Harness.

Jamie Van de Pavert rode her , 'Twinmills Jazmin' (Avonsleigh Gaizon/Delatite Mist) to win the Ridden Open Breeds Mare/Filly14.2-15.2hh.

Becky Carrolan rode the Blackwood Ponies successful, 'Kirreway Beaumont' (Syon Splendour imp/Kirreway So Hello) to win the Ridden Part Welsh 12.2-13.2hh.

Karen Chipperfield with the Wingana Stud's great working, 'Wingana Loving Cup' (Owendale Percival/Wingana Love Song). They took out the Reserve Ridden Part Welsh Championship.

Annie Rush with her very successful 'Rhyl Twain' (Rosslayne Royal Occasion/Duo Bibi) to win the Mare or Gelding over 13.2hh and go on to claim the Ridden Part Welsh Championship.

Breanna Basile rode her 'Carisma Park Jasmine' (Myscal Nobility/Mithril Surprise) to win the Show Hunter Pony NE12.2hh and go on to claim the Ridden Show Hunter Championship.

Angela Balfour won the Ridden Open Breeds Mare Over 15hh class with her 'Open Arms' (Flamingo Cloud/Miss Porteous).

At the end of a long, hot day, Rebecca Jones rode her 'Eldonbrook Ahmen' (Kaylee Centerfold/Bracknell Lots of Charm) to win the Ridden Arabian Derivative Mare/Filly/Gelding class and went all the way to take out the Ridden Championship.
