Sale World Cup Showjumping

Brook Dobbin opted to step his successful Grand Prix horse, 'Advisor' back for an easy show and is pictured on his way to second place in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

It is good to see Queensland Grand Prix rider, Aaron Williamson back in action. He is pictured riding his 'Cartalme Ego Z' to sixth place in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

Well known voice of Melbourne showjumping and show organiser, Brett Hickey is pictured making quite a spectacular jump aboard his mare, 'Cartouche' in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

Hilary Scott is pictured making a beautiful jump aboard her talented and imported mare, 'Oaks Miss Scarlet' on their way to winning the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix. Not one of the eight to jump clear in the first round could do so in the jump off with the troublesome double, 4Ab causing most of the trouble. Hilary and Miss Scarlet were the fastest with four penalties.

Melissa Froesch is pictured in full fight with her home bred, 'Glenara Bollinger' by Warlord II out of Miss Cognac, on her way to third place in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

Victorian Young Rider, Toni Scattergood makes a lovely jump aboard her well performed, Dee Jay West' for seventh place in the GB Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

Chris Chugg rode Michelle Barrera's beautifully bred imported mare, 'Alondra', by Indorado out of and Emillion mare to jump four and clear to win the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier. Due to the heavy rain overnight, only the Mini Prix and World Cup classes were conducted in the main Arena. Leeson Sirret did a brilliant job of designing and preparing the track for the as always well attended qualifier. And as luck would have it the sun came out for the class.

South Australian Grand Prix rider, Kristy Bruhn is pictured riding the home bred and home raced Thoroughbred Harbarty in the first round of the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier.

Ally Lamb makes a lovely jump aboard her promising World Cup mare, 'Penrose'. With a couple of fences down early , Ally did the right thing and opted to retire the mare and make the experience a good one and not a traumatic one. The mare by Icon was bred by Thea Crooke of The Holey Plain at Rosedale and is out of Thea's mare, Blackall Park Calypso. Interestingly Tim Clarke's Caltango is out of the same mare.

Sydney Roberts from Berry in NSW is pictured in only her second World Cup Qualifier riding her scopey, 'The Prince And You'.

Jamie Kermond, wearing the FEI arm band for leading Australian World Cup rider is pictured aboard Des Russell's beautiful imported stallion, 'Valhalla III'. The Quattro stallion won the Brisbane and Melbourne World Cup Qualifiers and was second at Sale jumping five and clear.

Adam Prime's wonderful, 'Saddle Up Darn Good' always makes a beautiful photograph and a beautiful jump. They jumped well to take ninth place in the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier.

Now Queensland resident and soon to be married (new Year's Eve )Becky Allen rode the Allen Family's 'RSB Jacana' to jump four and eight to take fourth place in the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier.

Well known Yarra Valley rider, Clyde Shera-Jones is pictured back in action in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix riding his 'Easy Dash'.

Popular international jumping rider, Billy Raymont from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland rode the New Zealand Performance Horses' , 'Ocean Beach NZPH' in the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier. The horse in just it's first World Cup season demonstrated great promise.

Danielle Butcher rode the Twins Performance Horses' wonderful Thoroughbred, 'Twins Big Higgs' to take fifth place in the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier.

Mark Lindh from South Australia again impressed with his super and imported, 'Coolio' and is pictured during the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier. Mark is quite a late bloomer to showjumping , but demonstrates great promise.

Jonathon Smith and his Thoroughbred, 'Sanskrit Park Vision' are pictured over the infamous 1.60m planks at fence four in the first round. This fence on inverted cups came was lowered by 12 of the 24 to start. Jon in only his third World Cup Qualifier took a very creditable seventh place.

Amanda Madigan clears the Sale Medical Centre oxer during the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier riding the Oaks Sport Horses' imported Darco mare, 'Oaks Altes'. They took eighth place in the Qualifier.

Jamie Winning from Ebenezer in NSW is pictured making a beautiful jump riding, 'Yandoo Zenzel HBC' during the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix. Later in the day, Jamie thrilled the crowd, and Course Designer, Leeson Sirret by jumping the only first round clear in the Sale Medical Centre World Cup Qualifier riding Sarah Beale's talented, Alpha Centauri. The clear round earned the Alimo gelding half an MES. Sadly for the talented pair the second round was not as perfect, with a misunderstanding and a fence down resulting in the addition of nine further penalties to slip them back to eventual third place.

Well know Warragul rider, Greg Stephens is pictured aboard his home bred, 'Shady Creek Finn' during the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

Mark Nicholls is pictured riding the imported mare, 'Ulone R' , formerly ridden by Andrew Inglis in the first round of the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix.

South Australia based Jeff Bloomfield jumped a good clear first round in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix riding the French bred, 'Pilot' that is out of Eloise de Semilly by Ideal de Valette.

With heavy rain again affecting the Sale World Cup, Vicki Roycroft opted to start her imported Quidame de Revel gelding, 'Kartoon de Breve' in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix. With no clear in the jump off, they took fourth place on time with four penalties.

The Davidson family from Queensland is certainly putting in some road miles. Shane is pictured making a lovely jump riding the home bred, 'Fairbanks Lulu' in the GBC Concrete and Construction Mini Prix. Last week Shane's wife, Mattea was riding at the Adelaide International Three Day Event.
