2008 Sydney Royal Show

Jamie Coman had to contend with a rather spooky, 'Noblewood Park Primadonna', however the lovely and talented mare, pictured in the final Section 3 class this morning, looks to have a bright future.

Thoroughbreds were rather thin on the ground in Section 3. However Sandra Kenny's Grand Lodge gelding, 'Grandejeur' jumped well to take fifth place in the class this morning.

Lachlan Manuel has had a successful Section 3 riding Ulrich Klatte'e stallion, 'Hector', including winning the Accumulator earlier in the show. With one fence down, they were just out of the money in the final jump off class this morning.

Julia Hargreaves had a good Section 3 riding her mother Lesley's 'Copabella Courcheval' (pictured). However, she had a sensational Section 2 with Copabella Haymen winning two classes.

John Cooper with the Falcon Sporthorses' 'Falcon Finn McCool' competing in the final Section 3 class of the show.

Amanda Madigan with the Diamond B Stud nomination, the Brilliant Invader gelding, 'Grand Invader', in the final Section 3 class this morning.

You would think Tim Amitrano liked grey horses! He is pictured making a lovely jump with his 'TP Winnermaker' during the Section 3 class this morning.

Vicki Roycroft's 'Noblewood Park Cassini's Girl' , a seven-year-old by Cassini II, makes a super jump on her way to third place in the final Section 3 class this morning.

Andrew Inglis' Darco mare, 'Amira R', although a little green, is really demonstrating her scope and carefulness during the Section 3 class this morning. She will be one to watch in the future.

Tim Dreverman from Berridale in NSW with his 'Stagecraft' during the final Section 3 class this morning.

Adam Mellers' imported Carthago Z mare, 'Carinthe Z' gives this fence plenty of air during the Section 3 jump off this morning.

Chris Chugg rode the Diamond B Stud and Australian Sporthorse Breeder's imported Clinton stallion, 'ASB Conquistador' to fourth place in the Section 3 and second place in the Mini Prix, both conducted this morning.

Cathy Graham and 'Davinci's Pride' are well on their way to victory in the final Section 3 class this morning. The horse by Deutschlander out of a Cleveland Bay mare was equal first in the Elysian Bronze Final in Queensland last July.

Emily Blinkworth with her sensational new import, 'CP Romantic Dream'. The Hanoverian mare of unknown breeding jumped well in Section 2 and took second place in the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix this morning.

Another lovely, imported mare. Hilary Scott with Alice Cameron's 'Oaks Pro Ratina' during the Kevin Bourke Memorial Mini Prix this morning.

Flying the Thoroughbred flag, Jamie Grant and 'The Player' make a good jump over the Ned Kelly Olympic fence during the Mini Prix.

It was very difficult to win a ribbon in the Mini Prix this morning. However, Andrew Barnett and his Thoroughbred by Galveston, 'Galvey Bay' jumped well to take fifth place.

What a show! Jamie Winning was declared Champion Young Rider yesterday, and this morning was second in the Section 3 and fourth in the Mini Prix riding her 'Yandoo Vangelo'. The super, imported Alcatraz gelding had a great show and was declared Champion Section 3 Horse.

Vicki Roycroft was in sensational form on the last day of Sydney Royal showjumping. Her victory in the Kevin Bourke memorial Mini Prix aboard 'Eliza Jane' was remarkable for a few reasons, not the least being that Vicki was probably the only rider in the jump off that had actually competed against Kevin.

Adam Mellers and the impressive stallion, 'Animate' by Animo won the Olympic MES class last Sunday. Both Adam and the stallion show their determination jumping clear in the first round of the World Cup Qualifier this afternoon.. This combination went on to win the class with the fast clear in the second round.

Queensland rider, Merrick Ubank and 'Dover Street' earned an Olympic MES last Sunday and just rolled the middle of the treble in the first round of the World Cup this afternoon. Dover Street is the only Thoroughbred in the class.

Peter McMahon and 'KS Genoa' in classic form during their clear first round in the World Cup Qualifier. Members of the 2006 WEG team, Peter and Genoa earned an Olympic MES last Sunday. Four faults in the second round placed this combination fourth.

Julia Hargreaves really shows the determination with which she attacked the World Cup Qualifier course today. Riding her imported Selle Francais gelding, 'Copabella Haymen', Julia posted an impressive first round clear. Five faults in the second round had Julia and 'Haymen' in fifth place.

Becky Allen, the only Victorian rider in the World Cup Qualifier and the Brilliant Invader gelding, 'Koyuna Ted', make a big effort over the first fence. Ted jumped well finishing the first round with one down and one, maybe costly time penalty. Becky and 'Ted" jumped well in the second round for just four faults and seventh place.

Tim Amitrano and his wonderful 'Mr Innocent' posted one of the four first round clears in the World Cup Qualifier. Tim and 'Mr Innocent' made the second round look easy but a slightly slower time than Adam Mellers had then in second place.

Chris Chugg with the Australian Sporthorse Breeders' imported mare, 'Alondra' has had a super show in Section 1.She is pictured on her way to a clear jumping first round in the World Cup Qualifier. However, one time penalty may prove very costly.

Rozinda MacCallum and 'Victory' made a good run in the Family Campdraft this afternoon for a score of 80.5.

Robert Neville and 'Soda Tory' scored an impressive 90 for their run this afternoon. The effort earned the Nevilles, Cameron and Robert second place in the Family Campdraft.

Bob Palmer is pictured aboard, 'Navaho' on his way to a score of 89 for the last run of the Family Campdraft. Joined by Mark, the Palmers won the competition.
