Victorian All Welsh Show

A busy Mark Brown got his show off to a good start by taking out the Welsh Cob Filly Championship with his and Denise Brown's Yearling, 'Indi Marie Louise' (Indi llewellen/Durrant Melba) . The flying filly went on to be declared Supreme Champion Youngstock Cob.

New Zealand Welsh Pony enthusiast, Rachael Hewsen is pictured with Janet Evans' Reserve Champion Welsh Pony Filly, 'Weston Park Victoria' (Eyarth Sama imp/Weston Park Verity).

Victorian All Welsh Committee Chairman, Gary le Brocq led Tina Taylor's 'Nattai River Shining Light' (Nattai Calypso/Nattai Luminous II) to win the Three Year Old Filly class, claim the Welsh Mountain Pony Filly Championship and go on to be declared Best Youngstock Welsh Mountain Pony Exhibit.

Sarah Wiltshire is on the move with her charming 'Westbury Lady Lotto' (Jinchilla Nero/Westbury Lady Catriona) that took third place in the class for Three Year Old Welsh Mountain Pony Fillies.

Ashley Porter took out the class for Welsh Mountain Pony Yearling Colts and went on to claim the Champion Welsh Mountain Pony Colt award with his delightful, 'Vanoca Park Lady Smith' (Llanfairbryn Goldrush/Nattai Dark Lady).

Trent Forge added to the entertaining Cob display with the Forge Family's 'Nawarrah Park Phantom' (Synod Aristocrat/Acheron Pytaten) that won the class for Welsh Cob Geldings 2 and 3 Years.

Helen and Debbie Nicholls' 'Nimerion Park Armani' (Weston Park Versace/Eelah Woollisa) was declared Champion Yearling Welsh Gelding.

The Welsh C and D Exhibits are always a draw card at the Victorian All Welsh Show. Chantal Parratt is pictured on the move with KW and JM Brennan's Reserve Champion Welsh Pony of Cob Type (C), Colt, 'Mariana Lodge Aloysius' (Cataraqui Hasufel/Acheron Alis).

The Howe Family's splendid 'Nawarrah Park Great Britain' (Llanarth Cardiff Arms/Annan Gwennan) won the class for 2 and 3 Year Old Section D Geldings, was Junior Champion Gelding 2 and 3 years and went on to be declared Best Youngstock Welsh Gelding.

Daniella Galea led her lovely three year old 'DD Speciality' (Dutton Lee Select/Allega) to claim the Part Welsh Filly Championship.

Dawn Berry was thrilled to take out the Part Welsh Junior Gelding Championship with 'Takari Park Spellbound' (Sianwood Silversmith imp/Serendipity Cinderella), the first pony to be exhibited under the Takari Stud name.

Dianne Proctor's typey, 'Willowcroft First Glance' (Oakvale Serenade/Naaman Nikita) shown by Mark Brown was declared Champion Junior Part Welsh Colt.

With the largest Harness entry for some years, it was apitty the skies opened for a good part of their competition. However, undeterred they produced some entertaining work on the first afternoon of the 34th Victorian All Welsh Show. Elsie Chalmers is pictured at the reins of her' Wyann Bounty' (Wyann Hokey Pokey/Wyann Gemini) during the Open Driver competition.

Mark Brown kept them coming. He is pictured with his own and Denise Brown's rather spectacular, 'Indi Pavarotti' (Indi Llewellen/Wingana Play Girl) that was declared Champion Colt of Cob Type and Best Youngstock of Cob Type Exhibit.

The rain certainly did not seem to affect Denise Reynolds and her super Welsh A, 'Nattai Fairy Starlight' (Nattai Prophert/Nattai Amberlight II. Denise took second place in the Driver class and the pony was declared Reserve Champion Section A & B Harness Pony.

Long time and successful Section A breeder, Wendy Parsons led her 'Barakee Tulle' (Llanfairbryn Goldrush/Barakee Brocade) to win the Section A Filly Futurity class and go on to claim the Pennylane Perpetual Trophy for Best Foal Futurity Exhibit.

Vicki Stevenson drove her charming, 'Trentham park Silver Tegan' (Menai Silver Sands/Glenview Monique) to win the class for Novice Driven Mare or gelding.

Deborah Oldaker drove her 'Cataraqui Magical Amulet' ( Acheron Splash of Magic/Acheron Addien) to fourth place in the class for Driven Section C Mare or Gelding.

Legendary harness exhibitor, Elsa Avery is pictured at the reins of her well performed, 'Acheron Midnight' (Redwood Derw imp/Waterford Dolgelly) that placed second in the Section D Gelding or Mare Harness class.

Victorian All Welsh Committee Secretary, Theresa Townsend took time out to show, April Trimboli's 'Methril Jewel' (Bookra Sports Edition/Westbury lady Silvie) that won the class for Yearling Filly and went on to be declared Champion Filly of Cob Type.

The sun came out for Linda Miller as she drove Basil Lee's 'Cataraqui Gwendolyn' (Acheron Splash of Magic/Acheron Mari Ddu) to third place in the class of Driven Section D Mare or Gelding.

Kim Filmer drove her good working, 'Remlif Park Avalon' (Llanina Merlyn imp/Bookra Welsh Fable) to be declared Reserve Champion C/D Harness Exhibit.

Marjory Walter had a super show with her two harness exhibits. She is pictured driving 'Fontain Navahara' (Lyndon Lodge Christopher Wren/Fontain Natasha) that was declare Champion C or D Harness Exhibit and Supreme Champion Purebred Harness Exhibit.

Kali Terracall rode her mother Nikki's Haddon Park Topaz Rose' (Cangarrini King Cyrus/Penleigh Piaffe) in the well attended Novice Working Hunter class.

Sally Aumann is pictured with her own and Di Aumann's 'Pemberton Design' by Weston Park Versace out of the successful show pony, Stanton Park Custard Tart. The Filly took second place in the class for Two Year Old Welsh Pony Fillies and won the Section B Filly Foal Futurity.

No fear of bushfire at the 34th Victorian All Welsh Show, but there is a flood alert out for the Shepparton and Tatura area. Maddie Bethell from Gordon near Ballarat thought she had better give her gumboots a road test.

Michael Gates' lovely, 'Cherrington Queen Arabella' (Bamborough Ambassador/ Congarinni Queen Bee) took fourth place in the strong class for Welsh Pony Three Year Old Junior Fillies.

Geoffrey Marks is pictured with successful Welsh Pony breeder, Janet Evans' 'Weston Park Madonna' (Eyarth Sama imp/Weston Momosa) that won the Three Year Old Filly class and went on to be declared Champion Welsh Pony Filly.

Trent Forge did the honours with Eric Dudley's 'Kirreway Obama' (Imperial Justify/Kirreway Koby) that won the class for Two year Old Junior Welsh Pony Colt on the first day of the 34th Victorian All Welsh Show. Given the concern with the bushfire threat of the traditional beginning of January scheduling the show was brought forward a month. No worry of bushfires this year, but floods were rather a problem.

Successful Welsh Pony breeder and exhibitor, Wendy Trimble took out the Welsh Pony Colt Championship with her Yearling, 'Tooravale Castaway' (Weston Manhattan/Weston Park Candice) and the eye catching palomino was declared Best Youngstock Welsh Pony Exhibit.
