Third out this morning in the Two Round Second Qualifying competition, Chris Chugg and 'Vivant' jumped a beautiful clear round for Australia. The technical and careful track took it's toll with clear rounds at a premium and only 17 out of 121 horses.. Chugg and Vivant made it look easy. After two qualifying rounds, they are in 15th place on 6.58 penalties.

Winning USA Team rider from yesterday, Mario Deslauriers would be disappointed with the eight penalties collected in the first round of the two round Grand Prix today riding the Dutch Zandor gelding, 'Urico'. Mario is in 22nd place and the Canadian team are fourth after two rounds. The top ten teams and qualified individuals go through to the second round tomorrow when the Team medals will be decided.
Australian Team member Matt Williams and 'Urleven van de Helle' look sensational over the Calumet Farm oxer during the first of the two round qualifying competition. Unfortunately and foot in the water and three dawn saw them finish with 16 penalties.
The 2004 World Champion, Dermott Lennon riding for the Irish Team added 12 jumping penalties and one time penalty to his tally riding the Lord Bryon Z gelding, 'Hallmark Elite'. This was quite a blow to his chances of another medal as it is almost impossible to come back from here.
Riding for Great Britain, David McPherson and 'Chamberlain Z' by Chellano Z jumped a super, careful round marred only by a foot in the water for four penalties. They are pictured over the Rolex Oxer number 13. Great Britain are in tenth place.
Sweden's Helena Lundback and 'Bukowskis Erbblume' by Castor make a flying leap over the fabulous Tote Board and Winners Circle fence. They added 12 penalties in this round.
Germany's Casten Otto Nagel and the wonderful Corrado 1 mare, 'Corrradina' jumped a sensational clear round in the first of the Two round team decider. This combination will not be far from the top end later in the week. They are in fourth place on 3.24 penalties and the German Team lead by less than one penalty point from Brazil and the United States.
Belgian Team members, Judy Ann Melchior and 'Cha Cha Z' by Cathago Z make a big effort out of the Calumet Farm treble combination. They finished the course with just one to add, going in to the costly double of verticals at 12a.
Dutch Team rider, Jur Vreling jumps the Seabiscuit skinny vertical riding the Baloubet du Rouet stallion, 'VDL Bubalu'. They added eight penalties to their cumulative score in the first round of the Individual and Team qualifier. The reigning World Champoionship Team are in a disappoiinting 15th place and have not qualified for the final Team round.
French Team rider, Patrice Delaveau and the Calvaro mare, 'Katchina Mail' added just one rail to their score today. They are in 19th place with 7.72 penalties. and France is in fifth place.
Venezuelan rider, Andres Rodriguez looks all business as he negotiates the 1.60m FEI vertical during the first round of the second Team and Individual qualifier. They had two down and a time penalty to finish the round with a total of nine penalties.
US Team rider and Beijing Team Gold Medalist , Laura Kraut had an unlucky fence down riding her wonderful, 'Cedric' which dropped her down to 37th place in this very close competition. The US Team are in second place after two qualifying rounds. The US Team are in third place, but the competition is very close with less than a fence separating the first five teams and the next five less than another fence away.
Australia's Edwina Alexander jumped a super clear aboard the wonderful, 'Cevo Itot Du Chateau' to rest in fifth place after two qualifiers. The Australian Team are in seventh place of the 27 Teams to start, and their efforts today have qualified an Australian Jumping Team for the London Olympic Games. The top ten Teams go through to the Team final tomorrow night.
Alvaro Miranda jumped a effortless clear riding the former Australian horse, 'Ashleigh Drossel Dan'. They are in tenth place individually and Brazil are in third place after the two qualifying rounds and Brazil are second.

Riding for Great Britain, Lee Pearson OBE has won Gold at Sydney, Athens and the Beijing Olympics as well as six World Championship Gold Medals. He is no doubt hoping to make that seven. The BBC Sportsman of the Year rode 'Gentleman' by Gullit to win the Team Test 1b with 73.81%.

Twenty four year old New Zealand Team member, Katie McVean could not capitalise on her great round yesterday with 'Delphi' lowering three fences. The course was very technical and very careful and it did not take much to dislodge a rail. Katie rode well and as cane be seen, the nine year old 'Delphi' looked super.
Dutch Team member, Harrie Smolders makes a lovely jump over the first fence, The Rod and Riddle Over at 1.45m x 1.50m x 1.50m riding 'Exquis Walnut De Muze' by Nabab de Reve out of a Chin Chin mare. Despite appearances they lowered two fences on course.
Going last for Australia, James Paterson-Robinson had the weight of Olympic qualification on his shoulders. The always talented rider handled the pressure superbly and jumped a great four penalty round aboard Ger Poels nine year old Daimant de Semilly stallion, 'Niack De l'Abbaye'.
Sharon Jarvis produced the goods with her 'Applewood Odorado' by Indorado to take third place in the Para Dressage Championship Grade III Team Test.
Riding for Denmark, Annika Lykke Dalskov rode 'Preussen Wind' by Gribaldi, the sire of Totilas, to take second place in the Para Dressage World Championship Grade III Team Test.
New Zealand Team Member, Samantha McIntosh and 'Loxley 38' make a beautiful jump over the Keeneland Oxer, 1.50m, square by 1.80m wide. Sadly they had a foot in the water and one down, which has rather put paid to their individual chances.
