Lauren Farquhar representing the Hurstbridge Pony Club had a successful day with her wonderful New Forest Pony, 'Habbafield Cricket'. Lauren won the class for Pony Club Rider 13/14 Years and went on to take out the class for the Pony Club Mount 13-14hh.
Kristen O'Connell representing the Whittlesea Pony Club rode her colourful, 'Starsky' to take second place in the class for Pony Club Rider 15/16 Years.
Danielle Apted from the Yarrambat Horse and Pony Club rode her, 'Mush Park Heritage' aka, "Harry" to win the class for Pony Club Rider15/16 Years.

The schoolbag helped Kayla Satchell and 'Trigger' get over the line in the Topsy Ring class, for "School Pony Ridden with One or Two Children. The Topsy Ring was for Riders 13 Years and Under who live within a 25 kilometres radius of Whittlesea.
Alice and Miranda Darby are a little wary of the camera, but 28 year old, 'Spunky' knew when to "say cheese". They opted for the multiple option and took second place in the Topsy Ring class for School Pony With One or Two Riders.

Evergreen Morris Clarke from Mortlake, is pictured riding the talented and colourful Contango II gelding, 'Contagious'. It was a battle of the generations of sorts, as Morris was competing in The Age Victorian Showjumping Championships as was his son Tim. On this occasion, Tim came out on top, but not always.
Mark Nicholls' typey and talented, 'Amibit' makes a super jump during the first round of The Age Victorian Showjumping Championships. Sadly the round did not go to plan and they played no further part in the competition.
Tim Clarke has progressed up from the Young Horse classes with the impressive stallion, 'Belcam Catalyst'. They posted one of the two double clear rounds in The Age Victorian Showjumping Championships. Becky Allen went first against the clock with Koyuna Ted and jumped a very fast four penalty round. Tim wisely opted not to chase the time and go for a steady clear. But it does not always go to plan, especially with young jumping horses and they jumped a four penalty round 12 seconds slower than Becky. "Rider error" declared a modest Tim.

Ally Lamb has stepped her, 'Penrose' up to the Big Tour and are pictured during the first round of The Age Victorian Showjumping Championships. Ally was obviously not happy with something and chose to retire half way around the course. Plenty of time yet for this talented combination.
Sadly for Jamie Kermond, Des Russell's in form stallion, 'Valhalla' was temporally out of action and missed the Victorian Championships. However Jamie has been having success with his relatively new ride, Bob Jackie and Genevieve Cox's Coleman mare, 'Colthaga' that took 8th place in the Championships.
With time taken in the first round to separate the minor placings, Brook Dobbin rode 'Belcam Advisor' to jump clear and four to take fourth place in The Age Victorian Showjumping Championships.
Greg Smith as always did a beautiful job with his long time and successful partner, 'Henry Higgs'. Owned by Debbie Higgs and Greg and Pam Smith, 'Henry' has been the dominant force in Victorian jumping for many years. Despite coming up to his 21st birthday, 'Henry' jumped very well, but a fence down in both rounds saw him uncharacteristically absent from the presentation line up.
Favourites do come home. Becky Allen and 'Koyuna Ted' were at short odds to win the 2009 Age Victorian Championships. After jumping a double clear, they stormed around against the clock posting a very good time 43.08, but lowering the last in the process.. It was however good enough to take the title.
Rebecca Lund took out the Reserve Champion Rider Award in the Standaradbred Ring with plenty of help from her, 'MP Ataya Secret' by Total Recall.
Dr Harry Cooper made an appearance at Whittlesea Show on both Saturday and Sunday during which time filming was being done for the Channel 7 programme, Better Homes and Gardens. Dr Harry is pictured catching a lift with 'Butcher' , Harrison Collins who won the Tradesman's Turnout class with the beautiful light harness horse, 'Toby'. Whittlesea Show will appear on the Friday 13th episode of Better Homes and Gardens.
There was a strong HRCAV presence at Whittlesea. A few members are pictured being led on to the arena for the Grand Parade.
