10 'must haves' with Greg Andrews

1) Smile and have a positive attitude: Go out and have fun with your horse, you’ve paid dearly for every moment leading up to this moment so ENJOY IT! The judges opinion is just that, do it for yourself and if you win it’s just a bonus.

2) Fabulous horse, superbly conditioned and in great skin: Our horses are worked five days a week and gradually over months build up into very fit and happy athletes.

3) Outfit: Beautiful structured suit with well matched shirt and tie, well polished shoes and cufflinks.

4) My lucky whip my girls had made especially for me.

5) Well thought out halter: try lots of them on until you get it right and ensure you have a good strong well cared for leather lead.

6) Well stocked makeup box: Absorbine show sheen mist, brushes, dandy and soft body brushes, sheepskin mitt, baby oil, gel, hoof pick, hoof clear, clear boot polish, sanding blocks, chux, clear alto light, dry shampoo, a full shampoo and conditioner bucket and scraper and dry towels, Kiwi sponge boot polish, money for coffee and Hydralytes for water on hot days.

7) Tuffrock GI and TuffrockMud: to help their gut settle on the way in and detox them after all the high energy output.

8) Clean filters in our perform airvents so horses arrive dust free and happy.

9) A very good groom who can ensure your horse has a lot of fun and can enjoy his personality to the full, but not too cheeky and make themselves silly and tired before their class. We try and rest our horses and keep them very quiet leading into a show so they are refreshed and happy.

10) A Runsheet so that your timing is perfect. If a class is running late try and have an extra friend ringside to tell you when to go up so your horse isn’t exhausted standing about.
