Jockey Nikolic denied return to saddle

Controversial jockey Danny Nikolic has lost in his bid to return to the saddle, after his application for a jockey's licence in Queensland was denied on Wednesday.

Nikolic, 45, has not ridden since September 2012 after he was disqualified for three years for threatening Racing Victoria chief steward Terry Bailey and fellow steward Wade Hadley.
