WELLINGTON, Florida, April 1, 2018–Laura Graves, going to Paris with Verdades for the World Cup Final, will have plenty of spending money as the top prize money winner for the second year in a row at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival that completed its 12-week run.
Laura and her Olympic team bronze medal partner ranked No. 5 in the world, earned $47,400 (€38,486) in six starts for six victories on the Wellington winter circuit that also provided the top ranked American pair a ticket to their third World Cup final and a showdown with reigning champion Isabell Werth on Weihegold OLD.
Laura of Geneva, Florida and the 16-year-old KWPN gelding that she owns with her partner, Curt Maes, last year became the first American to top the Global money standings with a total of $55,600 (€45,142) in prize money.
Denmark’s Mikala Münter, based in Florida, topped the prize money list in 2015 and 2016. Lars Petersen, who rode for Denmark at the time, was the top money winner in 2013 and 2014.
