Meet Equestrian Australia's New CEO Lucy Warhurst

I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead Equestrian Australia (EA) as CEO and would like to thank everyone that has made me feel welcome in the role.

In the first week since joining the EA team I have had the privilege of attending the Sports Forum held in Melbourne with EA Directors and State Branch Chairs and CEOs. The Sports Forum enabled our shareholders and EA to speak openly and honestly about the challenges we have, and how it will be in the best interests of our community if we can work together towards a sustainable future.

I wish to engage and spend time with the people in Equestrian from all disciplines and in all States and Territories. I would like to attend as many events in all regions as possible in my job. If you see me please come and say hello, I would love to meet you.

Last week I went to the NSW Dressage Championships & the Sydney Spring Show jumping Championships. This weekend I plan to attend the Sydney Eventing Spring Classic at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. Riders, coaches, officials and organising committees work long and hard to provide quality events and I thank each and every one of you.

This week I met with the Equestrian Australia Jumping Committee (EAJC) during their half yearly meeting held at our headquarters. This discipline has big plans for increasing its visibility and profile to grow the sport. EA and the State Branches wish to support Jumping in every way possible, as we do for all our disciplines and our community.

I look forward to opening an exciting new chapter for Equestrian in Australia.

If you have any questions, concerns or ideas, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
