The dust has finally settled in the outback Queensland town of Longreach after a weekend of bull riding, bucking broncos and barrel riding, but for one seven-year-old cowgirl, riding a horse at high speed has become a way of life.
Charlie-Rose Prow says her love for barrel racing started when she was a baby and her mother held her on a horse in the back paddocks of her Blackall home in the state's central-west.
"I've been barrel racing since I was a baby and it's been really fun," she said.
"Every time I think about it, I get really nervous in the body. It gives me a shake.
