We all want to see equestrian sports made safer – and the first National Safety Conference for Horse Sports is taking a great step forward on the issue. And there’s still time to book in with registrations closing Tuesday 21st January.
Participants at the conference on Saturday February 1 in Melbourne will learn ways to mitigate risk at their competitions, training sessions, clubs and during lessons, from some of the top experts in the field.
The conference is open to anyone involved in a horse sport – instructors, officials, administrators, amateur and professional riders and trainers, the media and volunteers. Issues covered include improving the predictability of horses, safer obstacles, workplace safety measures, rider education and risk management.
The conference, hosted by Pony Club Australia with the backing of organisations such as Equestrian Australia, will be held at Westwaters Hotel and Entertainment Complex, Caroline Springs, Victoria.
