Leigh Clifford, the former Qantas chairman who heads Equestrian Australia’s high-performance panel, has moved to reassure athletes that their Olympic preparations will not be jeopardised by the turmoil that has engulfed the sport’s governing body ahead of Tokyo.
EA has entered voluntary administration six weeks out from when the Games in Japan were supposed to start, a situation that has been described as an “unprecedented disaster” among Olympic sports by Australian Olympic Committee president John Coates.
