Sweden’s Patrik Kittel & Delaunay Win Budapest World Cup Freestyle

BUDAPEST, Sept. 29, 2019–Patrik Kittel on Delaunay OLD won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday to give the Swedish Olympian a jump start in seeking to qualify for what would be his eighth Final set for Las Vegas next April.

Patrik and the 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding that he rode at the 2019 Final in his homeland scored 78.375% for the win. The event was in the Central European League but was dominated by riders from Western Europe trying to earn points three weeks before the highly competitive WEL starts.

German team rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on Zaire-E placed second on 77.875%. She competed in four Finals on Unee BB, including Las Vegas in 2015 where she placed third.

Morgan Barbançon on Sir Donnerhall II OLD, also looking to return to Las Vegas riding under the French flag unlike 2015 when she competed for Spain, was third on a personal best score of 77.750%.
