Almost 100 horses spent the day limbering up on Governors Island in New York just before the curtain raises at the Longines Global Champions Tour of New York tomorrow. Riders from 19 nations have landed on Governors Island to battle it out for the LGCT and GCL Championship Finals.

International course designer, Uliano Vezzani said: "We have top riders and the top horses here all ready the Finals”

Edwina Tops-Alexander explained; "We are certainly in New York - you can really feel the energy! It is going to be an extremely exciting few days of competition."

All the horses looked fresh and raring to go in the training session against the incredible backdrop of the Statue of Liberty and were enjoying a refreshing breeze coming in across New York Habour.

The first CSI5* class will kick off tomorrow at 12.30 local time where you can watch all the action live on GC TV at www.gcglobalchampionstour.com and round one of GCL New York will commence at 15.30.
