2012 Reining Australia Affiliate Championships and Futurity Show

Mick Taylor rode Whizzel With Me to post the impressive score of 219 and take out the CA Non Pro, the CA Open, the RA Open and the most important award was the Michelle Halliwell Memorial Non Pro. Cameron Halliwell is not competing at this event but he did make it for an emotional presentation. Whizzel With Me has the blue blood of Reining, with both parents, Whizzel A Melody and Docs Pepper Toy both Reining Australia Hall of Fame Inductees.

Peter Bartolo rode SR Whizzel Chex to score 209.5 for second place in the CA Non Pro and third place in the Michelle Halliwell Memorial Non Pro.

Rod Osborne riding OP Whizzabout scored 208 for third place in the CA Non Pro and fourth place in the Michelle Halliwell Memorial Non Pro.

Noel Watson riding Chickie lena scored 208 for second place in the CA Open and third place in the RA Open.

Young rider Lana Kelderman rode Oaks Moon Dust to win the Freestyle where competitors ride their own pattern to music with set movements required.

Grace Christoffel and Docs Leo Tivio did not win the Freestyle Reining but they certainly had the best outfit.

David Manchon launched his wonderful Rooftop Express show and it was a huge hit. Dave was able to mix talent and humour for an excellent performance. More about the wonderful purpose built gooseneck will be following in an up coming edition of Horse Deals Magazine.

Paul Barratt riding Bethany Barratt's, Mr Holly Chrone by A Hollywood Custom scored 202 for second place in the RA Int. NP Futurity and fourth in the RA NP Futurity.

Warren Backhouse produced a great run aboard, Debbie Keogh's stallion, Lil Hollywood Jac by Hollywood White to win The NR Open Futurity with a score of 217.

Rob Lawson riding New Zealander, Jozette Hazedine'sTopsail Wimpy by Wimpys Little Step scored 214 to win the RA Int. Open Futurity and place second in the Open Futurity.

Shaun Saunders riding Jolene King's, Smoke N Calboy scored 212 for equal fourth in the Open Futurity.

Guy Wiseman rode his Hollywood Whizz Kid to score 189.5 for sixth place in the RA NP Int.Fururty.

Mick Taylor rode his Miss Little Step by Wimpys Little Step, to score 208.5 for third place in the RA NP Futurity, fifth in the RA Int. Open Futurity and ninth in the Open Futurity.

Ed Smith and his own and Robyn O'Brien's, Shadyacres Docs Lena by Acres Destiny, scored 213 to win both the NP Int. and NP Futurity and place second in the Int. Open Futurity and third in the Open Futurity.

Hard working committee member, Errol Thomas rode his Hustlers First Flame by Hustlers First Step to score 209 for second place in the Non Pro Futurity and fourth in the Open Futurity. Earlier in the day Errol rode his beautiful stallion, Docs Fancy Roy for second place in the Michelle Halliwell Memorial Non Pro and the RA Open, scoring 214.

Warren Backhouse and P and A Bastable's, Onya Wyatt Earp by Matt Dillon Dun It scored 212 for equal fourth place in the RA Open Futurity.

Brendan Manz riding Rockin J Hustle N Spin competed in the RA Futurity but today did not score.

Shaun Saunders riding Ivy Thomson's, Big River Spanner In the Works, scored 208 for tenth place in the Open Futurity.

Anthony Ross riding his own Lil Ripper Whiz by Whizzel A Melody scored 200 for third place in the RA Int. Non Pro Futurity and fifth place in the RA NP Futurity.

Scott Sutton riding T and K Dickinson's, A Custom Chex by A Hollywood Custom scored 210 for third place in the RA Int. Open Futurity and 8th in the Open Futurity.

Rick Paff rode his own Crown K Hezgot The Chex to score 204.5 for seventh place in the RA Open Futurity.

April Story rode her own Hugs Dancer by Hug Me Doc to score 109.5 for equal fourth place in the RA Int. Non Pro Futurity.

Greg Cross riding his own Custom Oakie by a Hollywood Custom, scored 205 for sixth place in the RA Open Futurity.

Crowd favourite, Warren Backhouse rode Anita Ganzer's, Rocin On The Ranch to post a score of 212 for equal fourth place in the RA Open Futurity.

Chelsea Ragg riding her Triandibo Indeniable by Inevitably scored 183.5 for seventh place in the RA Int NP Futurity.

After nearly threes days of competition for Non-pros and up and coming riders, the professionals really woke up the audience. Shaun Saunders rode Angelina Poole's, Rockin J Miracle Toy Whiz by Whizzel A Melody to score 211 for seventh place in the RA $50,000 Gold Buckle Futurity.

Yves Cousinard rode his own and Christine Bayer's, Bitsy Little Step for equal eight place in the RA Int Open Futurity, scoring 201.

Jennifer Brown rode her Jazy Little Chexer by Jazzy Little Spin to score 109.5 for equal fourth place in the RA NP Int. Futurity.

Rick Paff rode Kathleen Prudence's, Sunny Bill Williams by Son of A Gun, to score 201 for equal eigth place in the RA Int. Open Futurity.

Wayne Williams rode Matthew LeLay's, Chics R Me Hobby to score 195.5 in the Reining Australia Futurity.
