2011 Adelaide Royal

The Southern Eyre Hunt Club, comprising, Shane Cooper riding 'Jimmy', Casey King with 'Nero', Lucy Clutterbuck riding 'Kombi' and a mystery member, took sixth place over all in the 12 strong Section Four competition sponsored by The Castle Tavern and Central Properties P/L.

The Great Southerners Section Four Team are pictured in action during the final ride off on Saturday morning. The team consisted of, Corrin Link, 'Fab', Rachael Maynard, 'Searcher, Kare Maynard, 'Ultimate P'fection' and Chelsea Jordan and 'Mr Smooth'.

The Clare Hunt Club Team of Katie Bowley, 'Jeannie, Bronywn Waters, 'Cheeky', Veronica Betts and Kristy Wells, look to be making a safe landing their round in the Section Four Final.

The well represented Strathalbyn Hunt Club, Awesome 4some Team of Brook Francis, 'Egypt', Leena Phluger, 'Huggie', Mel Keelan, 'Jed' and Ben Jolley riding, 'Franklin' took fifth place in the Section Four Competition.

The Strathalbyn, Little Bit Of Mischief Team of, Nicole Bruggeman, 'Mavey', Stuart Bartlett, 'Dan', Jackie Aylsbury, 'Capri Lad' and Debbie Thompson with, 'Mischief' took second place in the Section Four competition.

The Fleurieu Number One Team of, Mary Crosby, 'Paddy', Lee Byars, 'Chegwin', Pat Shaw, 'Charlie' and Sarah Dawson with 'George' were delighted to win the Section Four competition sponsored by The Castle Tavern and Central Properties P/L . The winning Team is pictured with sponsors, Malcolm, on LHS and Graham Fricker, with Judge John Patterson in the middle.

Successful Victorian young showing rider, Grace Hill rode her 'Kirreway Democracy' to take second place in the strong class for Child's Galloway on the last day of the 2011 Adelaide Royal Show.

Emma Vallance from Portarlington Victoria rode her, 'Kolbeach Limelight' to fifth place in the class for Child's Galloway.

Nicole Berry is pictured on the move with her, 'Whitmere Coat of Arms' that took sixth place in the strong class for Child's Galloway.

Sarah McMaster is understandably delighted with her, 'Moniceito Park Royal Flush' that backed up after taking out the Galloway Championship to take out the class for Child's Galloway.

Kirra Burgess from Finniss in SA rode Barb Begley's, 'Marena Brave Dance' to take sixth place in the class for Lady's Galloway Hack.

Britt Anderson from Broken Hill in NSW had a good show with her Galloway, 'Blaske' that as 'Cymbric's Blaske' won the class for Australian Stock Horse Hack.

Paula Garrard from Williamstown in SA is pictured with her, 'Chalani Nightdance' (Splashdance/Chalani Giselle) that won the class for ASH Entire.

A delighted Alison Gordon from Mount Gambier in SA is pictured with her typey mare, 'Condor Idoleesa' (Condor CD Rom/Strathmerton Glen Leesa) that won the class for Australian Stock Horse Mare Four Years and Over and went on to be declared Champion led ASH.

Well known and successful showing exhibitor, Julie Warneford from Yarra Glen in Victoria is pictured working out in the Lady's Hack class riding her handsome, 'The Padre'.

Avery grown up looking Sarah Dempsey from Whittlesea in Victoria is pictured during the Lady's Hack class riding her former Barastoc Newcomer Champion, 'Kooyong Carousel'.

Well known and very successful SA showing rider, trainer and judge, Leanne Donoghue rode her well performed, 'Dance For Me' to win the class for Lady's Hack on the last day of the 2011 Royal Adelaide Show.

Jacqui Laidlaw fromTarrington in Victoria rode her own and Gail Laidlaw's, Fame and Honour' to take fifth place in the class for Lady's Hack.

Emily Hoare rode her own and Heather Hoare's, 'Khamsin Rose' to sixth place in the class for Lady's Hack. With the odd exception, the weather all show had been the best for years. However, the last day experienced a deterioration in the weather pattern, with cold blasts of wind and rain coming through regularly and just enough to annoy those of us left standing in the final hours.

It was all worth the wait for Shakira Pascale from Mildura in Victoria, as won the Owner/Rider Hack class and took fourth place in the Lady's Hack with her, 'Suave'.

Popular showing identity, Mick Dempsey from Whittleses leads by example and is pictured riding , Silvana Nittoli's, 'Sequation' to fourth place in the class for Gent's Hack.

Dampened but not in the least deterred, especially when you win. Sarah Kempe rode her 'Willowcroft Safari' to win the class for Owner/Rider Galloway.

Interestingly the Australian Stock Horses are the only horse breed now judged at Adelaide Royal. Gone is the frantic last "Breeds Day" that saw the aren filled with horses and ponies of all description. Belinda Battersby made the most of teh opportunity and won the Ridden ASH Mare class with her 'Chalani Opera', (Splashdance/Chalani Giselle) a full sister to teh winning Led Entire,

Chari-Lee Hoad from Summertown in SA had a super show with her, 'Chalani Apollo' (Mr Cromwell/Chalani Aurora)that won eh Ridden ASH Gelding, The Station Hors and the Working ASH classes and was declared Champion Australian Stock Horse Under Saddle.

Andrew Cameron rode Cherie Jolly's 'Moot Yang Gunya Reesolute' (Yallatup Regal Remedy/MYG Muddy) to take second place in the Australian Stock Horse Station Class
